Itinéraire
Nous nous dirigerons directement vers la cascade de Bua Tong, qui est à environ 80 minutes en voiture. Nous y passerons environ une heure pour nous détendre et profiter du cadre magnifique. Explorez l'aventure naturelle à la cascade de Bua Tong pour respirer l'air frais des montagnes et profiter des sons apaisants de la cascade. Ensuite, nous irons au sanctuaire des éléphants, et il en faut 40 pour le trajet.
Après la cascade, nous nous dirigerons vers le sanctuaire des éléphants, qui est à environ 40 minutes. Le sanctuaire des éléphants est un parc de conservation des éléphants situé dans la pittoresque vallée de Mae Tang, à seulement une heure de route de Chiang Mai. Pendant la pandémie de COVID-19, nous sommes passés à un sanctuaire axé sur la conservation. Notre troupeau de 16 éléphants s'épanouit dans un environnement sans stress, où ils passent leurs journées à manger, jouer et apprécier des comportements naturels sans la pression des manèges ou des spectacles.
Ensuite, vous ferez du rafting en bambou et verrez des éléphants à proximité. Vous profiterez d'un magnifique paysage naturel, entouré de montagnes et d'arbres, où vous pourrez vous détendre et respirer l'air frais.

I will point out the good parts of the experience. The whole sanctuary seems very humane regarding on how they treat the elephants. You can tell that they are very healthy and overall the keeps try to keep both the tourist and the animals safe. I was able to feed them and bathe them. Overall that was great. I was able to touch the elephants and that will remain as the highlight of the tour. What truly spoiled the whole experience is that we were instructed by this guide names Two or Too (she said like the number) and she spoke fairly decent Spanish. But after a while in the sake of trying to fall into the good grace of the Mexican group, she started to use language that is not appropriate, just for the laughs. I understand the stereotypes that follow Mexicans and I played along at first. What was not nice is that she started to use homophobic slurs, like the one sanctioned by the FIFA in soccer matches, just to try to get a quick laugh. I believe this guide should be sanctioned or told to beheave properly. I don't fly to one of the most LGTBTIQ+ friendly countries in the world to hear homophobic slurs.
This experience exceeded every expectation we had and was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Thailand. From the moment we were picked up, everything was organized, relaxing, and enjoyable. A huge thank you to our wonderful guide, Paul, who was knowledgeable, funny, kind, and genuinely passionate about the elephants and the local culture. He made everyone feel comfortable, answered all of our questions, and took incredible photos throughout the day so we could stay present and simply enjoy the experience. Our driver, Mr. Not, also deserves special recognition. He got us safely to every destination with a smile and made the entire journey smooth and comfortable. The elephant sanctuary was absolutely beautiful. It was moving to spend time with these gentle giants in such a peaceful natural setting while learning their individual rescue stories. You can tell the staff truly care about the elephants and treat them with respect and compassion. The bamboo rafting was peaceful and scenic, and the waterfall was the perfect way to finish an already amazing day. Every stop felt thoughtfully planned, and there was never a moment where we felt rushed. If you're visiting Chiang Mai and want an experience that combines nature, adventure, and meaningful encounters with elephants, this tour is an absolute must. We left with unforgettable memories, amazing photos, and a deep appreciation for everyone who made the day so special. Thank you, Paul and Mr. Not, for giving us a day we'll never forget. Our guide Paul and driver Arm made our day so much fun! The pacing of the day was great. Feeding the elephants and getting to walk with them in the wild was an amazing experience. Ending the day with a relaxing raft ride was perfect for winding down before going home.
Husband and I not exactly boat people but this trip we've found ourselves booking all sorts of adventures on the water! We had such a nice time 😄! Totally happy with our time with these gentle Giants and our water adeventures!
