Le quartier Gaslamp, connu comme le cœur historique de San Diego, est un quartier du centre-ville de 16 pâtés de maisons qui regorge de discothèques et de restaurants de renommée mondiale. Plein d'architecture victorienne et de petits musées, ainsi que de Horton Plaza Park et Petco Park, c'est un must.
Ouvert en 2004, le Petco Park est un stade relativement jeune et le lieu de résidence permanente des très aimés Padres de San Diego, ainsi que de nombreux festivals et autres événements. Il dispose d'une zone herbeuse appelée Park at the Park, de plusieurs restaurants populaires.
Dédié à l'exploration de l'anthropologie culturelle, le Museum of Man propose des expositions qui explorent tout, du cannibalisme à l'histoire de la bière. En cours de rattrapage sismique, les expositions Cannibals et PostSecret restent ouvertes au public.
Balboa Park est un parc de 1 200 acres regorgeant de musées, du magnifique village d'art espagnol, de restaurants et du célèbre zoo de San Diego. Placé en réserve en 1835, il reste l’un des plus anciens parcs publics des Amériques, en plein cœur du centre-ville de San Diego.
Le village d'art espagnol a été construit en 1935 pour l'Exposition internationale California Pacific. Il a été conçu comme une petite cour colorée et vibrante qui invoquait le sentiment d'être transporté dans un village de campagne en Espagne. Aujourd'hui, c'est une communauté d'artisans florissante, allant des forgerons aux souffleurs de verre en passant par les vanniers.
Juste en face du jardin de roses d'Inez Grant, le jardin de désert abrite des plantes du désert uniques et intrigantes, des cactus en fleurs et de rares plantes succulentes du monde entier. Le 2,5 acres contient plus de 1300 plantes différentes à voir.
Avec plus de 50 boutiques et 17 restaurants et restaurants, Seaport Village est un magnifique quartier commerçant en front de mer à explorer à tout moment de la journée. Point de repère de San Diego, le centre de conventions de San Diego dispose d’une superficie de plus de six cent mille pieds carrés et d’une capacité de 125 000 personnes. Il accueille des congrès de toutes tailles toute l’année, et en particulier le célèbre comic-con de San Diego en été.
La Star of India a été construite en 1863, à l'origine nommée Euterpe, et reste le plus vieux navire à naviguer régulièrement. Il s’agit d’un monument historique national et californien, qui a élu domicile permanent dans la baie de San Diego.
The Homecoming est une réplique en bronze de la représentation par Stanley Bleifeld d'un marin qui rentre chez lui et est embrassé par sa famille. L'original a été sculpté pour le mémorial de la marine et la réplique honore maintenant le service rendu par les marins californiens de la marine.

It was an amazing tour! Was our first time riding a Segway. Our guide Jeff was so much fun showing us around the Gaslamp district and we wanted to do this again in La Jolla but didn’t have enough time. Julia is another guide who tagged alongside us and was super knowledgeable about the area too! Lucky for us, we booked on a weekday and had the tour to ourselves, so basically a private tour. Will definitely use them again and request Jeff or Julia! I highly recommend them!

Phenomenal tour with Jeff -- this is our fifth Segway excursion (in different cities) and we loved the personal touches on the tour. We seriously don't think it could have been any better. We will 100% be recommending this for company to friends and family. If you want to get the lay off the land before setting off to enjoy the area... this is a fantastic way to do it. Kenneth with Another Side of San Diego tours was AMAZING to work with, we worked together planning over the course of 9 or 10 months and from the very start he was extremely communicative and helpful with planning this group activity. The segway tour was wonderful! We were provided with helmets, water bottles, and the Segways. It turned out that the tour consisted of just our family so we were able to customize it to our preferences. Amy was knowledgeable, helpful, and kept the tour going at a quick pace. She even gave us restaurant referrals for later in our trip. We got to practice on the Segways outside the office and that helped us feel more confident before starting the tour. We were able to use bike lanes and walking paths besides just city streets which made it more comfortable. We covered a lot of area and visited many popular spots, receiving historic background for each area. The time flew by and we enjoyed the tour very much. We've been to San Diego many times before and this was by far the easiest way to get an overview of the city. We'd highly recommend this Segway tour!

The Segway tour was amazing! Mari and Matt made sure we were comfortable on the Segway before we started our journey into the streets of the Gaslamp district. We visited each place as advertised. The tour went for just over 2 hours. The flexibility with this company was great as we had to reschedule our tour at the last minute and they were able to accommodate us. Thanks for a memorable tour!
