We completed this outdoor escape room with my friend and her children (aged 5–10), and we all had a fantastic time. It was such a fun way to explore the city, and it made us appreciate landmarks and details that we had walked past countless times without ever really noticing. The clues were incredibly clever, with a surprising amount of depth and thought put into them. They were engaging for both the adults and the kids, and it was very satisfying piecing everything together as we went along. I would highly recommend this experience to locals and visitors alike. It's a great way to spend a morning in Sydney.
I played the Escapely game in Sydney Harbour with my partner. Both of us are puzzle game lovers and have completed many a board game and in person escape room. We absolutely loved the experience. Tried to fully immerse ourself in the game: enjoyed brunch with our 5% discount before the day started and then ended at the pub for the final puzzle! Overall puzzles were pitched at a really good level. Very well signposted and it was always clear what we had to do to solve the puzzle. Excellent balance of walking/sight seeing as well as puzzling. Absolute no brainer for any puzzle/escape room fan wanting a nice day out!
My friends and I had a great experience in The Rocks in Sydney with Escapely. The cost was reasonable and a cheap day out for all of us. The experience lasted about 3 hours but we did take our time. It was a great way to explore a beautiful city. I had so much fun doing this it actually inspired me to try and make some of my own outdoor escape rooms for my friends !
The game was great! My family and I had a great time! My favorite was the puzzle at Macquarie Square, we were all dashing around, looking at details. It took us 2.5 hours, we are familiar with the city, so we only needed to use google maps for Aslan's Coffee (the start point). And it was a fun experience for all of us. 5/5! (No kids in our family mid 20's to mid-60's)
The experience took me about 2.5 hours altogether, with no breaks. It was around 2.7 km total walking. It cost $94.99 to get the box shipped to Sydney from Nevada. Great for families, dates, friends, coworkers. I played solo and solved everything myself (with some hints). There’s minor issues where the clues/directions are either inaccurate, or not as helpful as they could be. For example, they said to “walk along the pathway between the park and the water” but actually, I had to walk a few meters past the park. For this reason, I walked around unnecessarily, not realizing that the necessary clue was slightly farther down the path, beyond park borders. Also, the Escapely website says to play during daylight but if your eyes are working decently well, you can play the Sydney game at any time of day.
Was so excited to play this after seeing it all over Facebook! And it did not disappoint. So much fun. The difficulty level was great. We did it as a group of 5 and, as self proclaimed experts at these things (with about 10 escape rooms up our sleeves), found this had a good balance of being challenging (really made us think!) and simple enough to understand so we didn't get frustrated. It had such a unique combination of having to use things we could see in the real world and the game pieces in the box. It was really clever the way it was done. Would definitely be up for doing more - loved that we got to do it at our own pace. Website was so easy to follow. Such a great day out!
: What an absolute blast! We had the best time — it was challenging, hilarious, and full of surprises. There were moments where we thought we’d never figure it out, but somehow we pulled it together in the end. It’s one of those activities that really gets everyone involved and laughing. My advice? Bring a clever friend or two, because it’s definitely trickier than it seems at first glance!
Fantastic family day out with our kids (12 & 13). The 7 year old did get a bit bored, but plenty of places to buy snacks around.
