Cristo Rei, inspiré de la statue similaire du Brésil, a été construit en 1959 pour réaliser la promesse faite par l'épiscopat portugais en 1940, selon laquelle si le Portugal n'entrait pas dans la Seconde Guerre mondiale, une statue serait érigée.

Ines and Cate are wonderful hosts and so experienced sailing the boat. Ines’ knowledge of Lisbon’s history and Cate’s marine biology background really enriched our experience. They are very personable as well. We didn’t want the trip to end! Highly recommend them. Also, the trip only holds a maximum of 8 people so there is plenty of room for everyone. Ines and Cate were fantastic! Ines shared so much history of the area and her and Cate’s sailing expertise was great 😊 Everything was even better than we expected. We really liked that there were only 8 people on the tour. Highly recommend!
The experience was very positive, with very beautiful views of the Tagus and the sunset. The treatment from the crew was excellent and we enjoyed the ride a lot. Only to indicate that when booking the tour the photos showed a sailboat, but without notice we sailed on a catamaran.
Had a wonderful experience on the tour with very knowledgeable and experienced guides who gave us great information about the river, Lisbon, wildlife around and how the boats interact with each other in the river. There was lots of space on the boat and if feeling brave there was a net to lie on above the water! We were provided with a very generous amount of drinks and the trip was of a good length. I would highly recommend and thought it was amazing value for the cost!
This was such an awesome experience ❤️ our guides were extremely warm (making sure we had drinks and were taken care of) and so knowledgeable, and we even managed to see dolphins! As a solo traveller, it's a great way to really experience Lisbon. Would highly recommend!

Excellent excursion. Felt like we were the only ones on the sailboat. 2 hours was a good amount of time.
Small group on board with lovely friendly crew to point out places of interest along the river and offer drinks. The 2 hours went too quickly. On our trip we were also lucky to see dolphins. Magical.
This was a 2 hour sunset trip and was really well organised. A small sail boat with ample room for everyone. The crew were super friendly and pointed out anything of interest along the way whilst also keeping the drinks topped up. As an unexpected bonus we got to see dolphins in the river. Magical.
