The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was to much trouble. From the very start we saw a group of elephants with a baby. The elephants pretty much ingored us and carried on eating and drinking. We got some lovely pictures. The guide was excellent at spotting other animals from the jeep. Overall a very good memorable day out.
Out of all the excursions on my cruise, this excursion in Hambantota was the best! Amazing from start to finish! Car service pick up was great, had our own jeep during the safari for just the two of us. Our jeep guide had great eye sight and stopped to even see the tiniest chameleon. The elephants were fantastic to see them free roaming was magnificent! Anyone porting into Hambantota must do this excursion! Very affordable and great customer service, super friendly. Keep in communication with you on Whatsapp. Thank you for such an awesome experience of a lifetime!
Had a wonderful day visiting the elephants, we also saw mongoose, crocodiles, monkeys, various birds. Excellent pick up from the cruise port and returned back. Excellent driver and very safe. Saw wild peacocks and cows laying in the road on the journey to the elephant reserve. All in all a fantastic day and great value for money, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Punctual pick up from the Hambantota cruise port and a very careful and considerate driver. Took about 50 mins to get to the Elephant reserve and then we transferred to safari style struck. We saw crocodiles, elephants, mongoose, eagles, various colourful birds including wild peacocks, monkeys and more. The duration was for 4 hours but we were happy at 3 hours and had seen enough. Fab day and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Great value for money. Note of advice it’s very bumpy so if you have back problems then give it a miss!
Superb safari. Knowledgeable guide who was very good at taking us to places where there were few other jeeps around. Very glad to say there were many opportunities to see elephants - the highlight of the visit. There were three people in our group and we had a jeep to ourselves - I was very happy to find that we weren't crammed into a jeep with lots of other people so we had great views and were able to take photographs easily. Was great to see elephants in this environment whilst at the same time they are so used to jeeps and people around that they come up close so a fantastic opportunity to see them.
Excellent tour from start to finish. Great value, easy instructions along with good communication. Would recommend again and again
great staff! Magical experience. Be sure to add the optional lunch. SO many elephants plus so much more!
We were on a cruise, so timings were important, and this excursion worked perfectly. We were met at the port entrance and driven to the park in a clean, air conditioned car. The driver had to ask directions a few times, which could have worried some travellers, but there were no problems and he got us there safely. At the national park, we had a jeep to ourselves and our driver was great at spotting wildlife. That said, it was impossible to miss a lot of the larger animals — you really do get up close and personal to the elephants. Along the way we saw a mongoose, water buffalo, crocs, monkeys and so many birds — an eagle, peacocks wandering along the roadside and the brightly coloured bee-eaters, which were my favourites. This excursion isn't for anyone with serious mobility issues or back problems — it's very bumpy — but we're both in our sixties and had no problems at all. Would definitely recommend. It cost a fraction of what we would have paid doing something similar through the cruise company and there was more than enough time to see the wildlife before returning well ahead of our departure time
We booked this private safari as a day trip from the cruise, and wanted a reliable company that would get us back to the cruise ship on time. They did not disappoint! Communication was excellent and timing was perfect!! The driver taking us to the safari park was lovely, drove well, and pointed out some wild life on the way. His English was good. At the Safari park we had our own jeep to ourselves, and what turned out to be the most experienced guide there!! (The other packed out jeeps would drive up and ask our guide what he had spotted and where!) He was very knowledgable and only moved on to another site when we were ready! A few times we found elephants before the other jeeps and then he would turn the engine off and allow us to watch them quietly as they ate and walked around, like we weren’t there! And finally, the trip was about half the price of what the cruise company was selling for the same thing, but exclusive! Would highly recommend.
If your cruise stops in Hambantota then this by far is the best thing to do. An amazing experience & great value for money.
