Safari Gorilla Trekking d'une journée

Our trip with driver/guide Maurice went perfectly. We were picked up at the hotel right on time, he brought snacks and we stopped at a cozy coffee place along the way. Maurice was great company and we had interesting conversations the whole way. The car and ride was comfortable, and we got to park in good time before the trek started. The company also provided gaters and face masks. Remember to bring your passport! We had to show them at the entrance to the base camp for the trek, which we were unaware of. Other than that, we received great information from Shalom Safaris and our contact Lisa, who were quick to respond anytime we had a question. When we got to the basecamp, we went with the park’s guides on the gorilla trek which was amazing and went perfectly. We got as close as 1-2 metres. We ended up on a “hard” level trek (we didn’t get to chose on arrival), which required a bit of physical edurance but was definitely doable for us (in our 30’s and in average, reasonable shape). If you need to go on an “easy” level trek for health or other reasons, remember to ask for it in advance. When we were done, Maurice drove us to the location of our choice. We had a great experience with Shalom Safaris!

This is a once in a lifetime experience and I couldn’t recommend this more. My guide was Alain and we had great conversation on the ride up, he was completely flexible to stop for photos, helped me prepare for the trip and the communication from Lisa while preparing for the trip was great. Fantastic experience, great experience with the gorillas, they were very active and got very close. Driver and guide went above and beyond to ensure comfortable journey throughout the day. Overall, far exceeded my expectations.

Shalom Safaris curated a first class all inclusive mountain gorilla encounter. From Paul's excellent transport and knowledgeable explanations to the staff of the park service, everything was meticulously managed. Porters, trackers, and guides were superb. And of course the stars of the show shined bright. The gorilla family ranged from animated and uninhibited young to indifferent adults. Our day trip concluded with an excellent lunch and a return to Kigali. BTW Rwandan infrastructure is excellent.

The experience was worth every penny and more. My guide Muhammad was exceptional. The ride to the gorillas, he answered my many questions about Rwanda with a friendly and enthusiastic nature. The gorillas experience was fantastic. The mountain guides were professional yet friendly and we got very close to the many gorillas, including being charged by the silver back at the end. But as we were told prior to the trekk, the charge was a bluff, but still very exciting. The experience was so good, I will be back and hope to have Muhammad again.

I love the experience, and what a privilege to witness such of animals in there own turf. A overcast day is what photographers needs for pictures perfect and thats what we had. The staff (driver) Mico was outstanding, considering the task need, and very helpful with his knowledge, clean and comfortable vehicle, serving me with water and meal . Excellent and kind service provided. Our guide and driver took great care of us, with all support possible to make us comfortable. On top, he took us to a great restaurant for a delicious lunch. A day we never will forget.
