Guides super friendly and knowledgeable - highlights seeing crocodiles and howler monkeys. Great way to spend an afternoon.
We were met on time at the pick-up location, and were informed, on our way to the put-in, that the river was running too high for us to be in kayaks. Instead, we were grouped (6 clients + 1 guide) into inflatable rafts, and that turned out to be perfect for the river condition. Our guide was wonderful at getting us to work together as a team, and we were able to settle into a downstream adventure that was quite wonderful, complete with monkeys, crocodiles, and even a tiny little exotic blue jean frog. As a retired biologist, I had questions for our guide that were a bit out of the ordinary, but he was able to answer in depth, and I was quite enchanted. I should add that I particularly enjoyed the on-shore excursion for a tree-planting ceremony
An absolutely amazing experience on the river guided by Carlos, and his amazing crew. Although the weather was working against us Carlos and crew was working with us. Plenty of wildlife and even getting to plant a tree along the river bank. I highly recommend this excursion
We had a great time kayaking in the forest with Failan. He was enthusiastic, thoughtful, knowledgeable and funny! Strongly recommended.
Such a lovely time! Saw so much wildlife it was incredible— howler monkeys, crocodile, boat billed heron, and a sloth and dart frog. Helpful to be comfortable maneuvering a kayak.
I don't recommend it. Few animals seen. The tour is not fascinating. Higher expectations. Competent guide but would not do it again
Was really nice, beautiful nature and very friendly and supportive guides, after the tour we got a lovely fruit snack with pineapple and watermelon. Great experience, everyone in la Fortuna should do it once.
We were 2 adults and 2 older teens who had a great afternoon on the river with our knowledgeable and experienced guide Fai. We were lucky to see sloths and monkeys and enjoyed our paddle with Fai providing the best way to navigate the quick but gentle current in the river. Fresh fruit at the end was a nice touch. Would highly recommend.
We had a wonderful afternoon on the Rio Peña’s Blancas near La Fortuna. Our very skilled and experienced river guide Fi was terrific with our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 older teens). The river is beautiful with a quick current but the guide shows you where to navigate. We were amazed to see a variety of birds, sloths (very lucky) and howler monkeys. Delicious fresh fruit was waiting for us when we finished. Highly recommend this tour.
Lovely trip down the river, Fi very attentive. We did fall in but that was largely our own fault. We were rescued so no harm done!
