We had an amazing safari experience in Kenya and would highly recommend this company to anyone planning a trip. From the very beginning, everything was well organized. On the first day, they picked us up from our hotel early in the morning, helped us with our luggage, and made the whole process very smooth. Since we hadn’t had breakfast yet, they kindly took us to Java House before we officially started the journey. It was a small gesture, but it immediately made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. After that, we met our guide and driver, Dennis Koome Kithinji, and our safari adventure officially began. Our first destination was Maasai Mara. Even though we only arrived in the afternoon, we immediately got lucky and witnessed a pride of lions hunting a buffalo. It was one of the most incredible wildlife moments we have ever experienced. What really stood out was how Dennis handled the situation. Instead of staying in one place, he repositioned the vehicle four different times so we could watch the hunt from several amazing angles. At one point, we were only about one meter away from the lions. It was thrilling, unforgettable, and something we will never experience anywhere else. On our very first day, we had already seen three of Africa’s Big Five animals. The second day was a full-day game drive in Maasai Mara, and it was equally impressive. We saw leopards, cheetahs, and even lion cubs. Since we had arrived in Kenya very early the previous day and were still tired from traveling, Dennis kindly let us leave a little later than originally planned so we could get some extra rest. One thing we appreciated throughout the entire trip was that we never felt rushed. Every time we stopped to watch animals, Dennis would ask if everyone was happy with their photos before moving on. He never made us feel like we were just trying to check animals off a list. His ability to spot wildlife was also incredible. Many times, he would point at an animal far away, and it would still take us several seconds before we could finally see it ourselves. Without him, we definitely would have missed a lot of amazing sightings. On the third day, we headed to Lake Nakuru. We wanted to buy some souvenirs, so Dennis arranged a stop at a souvenir shop and gave us plenty of time to browse without any pressure. Throughout the entire trip, there was never any feeling of being forced to shop, which we really appreciated. Lake Nakuru was beautiful and relaxing, and we saw many different bird species. Later, we visited Amboseli National Park, where we saw huge herds of elephants everywhere. One of the highlights was watching large male elephants cross the road right in front of us. Instead of simply following other safari vehicles, Dennis often anticipated where the animals would appear and positioned us at the best locations ahead of time. We were already waiting at the perfect spot when the elephants arrived, giving us incredible views and amazing opportunities for photos and videos. By the end of the trip, it honestly felt like we were traveling with a friend rather than just a guide. A safari in Kenya is already a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but having someone who genuinely cares about your experience makes a huge difference. Thank you to the entire team for organizing everything so smoothly, and a special thank you to Dennis Koome Kithinji for making this trip truly unforgettable. If we come back to Kenya for another safari in the future, we would definitely choose this company again and would absolutely ask for Dennis as our guide.
I had booked this with ‘Jockey tours and travels’ company and it was an amazing experience. Our trip with Guide Ken was amazing. We had everything in time, smooth and joyful. We could spotted all Big 5 on the very first game drive!! He briefed us everything very well and planned things in a perfect manner. I would recommend Ken and the operator for Kenya trips. Asante!!!
We had an amazing experience on our safari with Jocky Tours and Travels. Our guide, Ken, was an awesome guy. He was incredibly helpful, jolly and knowledgeable. He made us feel like we were at home. I highly recommend Jocky Tours for any safari booking you have for Kenya.
Here is an 80-word addition focused on Dennis: Our guide, Dennis from Guide Kenya, made the safari exceptional. Communication was clear and prompt from the beginning, and he kept us informed about the day’s plan. Dennis was punctual, reliable, friendly, and knowledgeable about the wildlife and environment. He knew the best places to find animals and gave us plenty of time for photos. His thoughtful service made us feel safe and comfortable throughout. The tour offered excellent value for money, and we would gladly recommend Dennis to anyone.
The tour was very well organized from start to finish. Even before we arrived in Kenya, they were very helpful and patient in answering all our questions. They even rescheduled when our flights were cancelled due to the war. The tour itself was absolutely amazing - our guide - Robert - is a wildlife expert. His knowledge about all the animals is seriously impressive and his ability to find the animals is unparalleled. He took us around for way longer than usual game drives and made sure that we spotted every animal. He stopped every time someone wanted to take a picture and also coordinated extremely well. Totally recommend everyone to try this out and ask for Robert!! Truly went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time.
We did 7 day safari including Amboseli. Everything went smoothly with Jocky Tours, from when we made first contact with them till the end of the safari. Their email response was always excellent. Airport pickup also went smoothly. We were assigned Evans as guide and he was excellent. What we really liked about him was that he was always attentive about our needs and made best efforts to scout and show the animals to us. We saw lions a lot of times in the entire safari. One thing which particularly stands out was the effort he made to show us leopard in Masai Mara. The first time we reached the place where the leopard was supposed to be, the leopard had left it. We came back later a second time also and had no luck. He later tried again a third time to get us to another place where a leopard was, but it was lying in the grass somewhere and we couldn’t see it. On the fourth time at another place in the grass we finally saw the leopard. What impressed me was always how much effort he made to show us the animals and the patience. The stays were also very good with the Manjaro Tented camp in Amboseli worth mentioning. Overall, we are very satisfied. Just a small feedback maybe to the tour company to improve for other travellers - please consider switching the place for lunch between Masai Mara and Nakuru. The other place for lunch between Nakuru and Naivasha & Naivasha and Amboseli was fine.
I was able to book 2 days in advance and they were so helpful. -I had a little difficulties figuring out the location of my hotel, but they answered immediately and were able to pick me up with ease, the driver even let me stop at a store on the way to get some missing stuff. I was paired with 2 other solo travelers and 2 other couples, we became like a little family, sharing photos and enjoy one another’s company. I was nervous to solo travelers for 5 days with strangers but it felt super comfortable! We shared snacks and the 7 of us travelers really felt confident about knowing the animals around us as Evans explained everything. ANIMALS We saw the big 4, small 5 and ugly 5! We saw a leopard with its meal for the night, a giraffe giving birth, hippos fighting, lions mating and I felt so joyous the entire time. Bringing a hat and scarf is smart because mornings are cold and the sun beats down on you when you’re outside. I was glad I brought a portable charger because my phone was snapping photos 24/7. Evans had such a depth of knowledge about the animals I felt like I was in a 5 day episode of National Geographic. SLEEPING -The first sleeping place for the budget friendly was modest, and they used a generator. You get your own bathroom everywhere you stay, and bugs were really never a problem I didn’t need my bug spray. The staff were really happy and even celebrated someone’s birthday with music and a cake. It was so charming! Everyone there were on a safari from different companies and I made friends easily! - The second place was an upgrade with WiFi and 24/7 power, but it lost the campfire companionship of the first one. Really good food! They had a pool, bar and I was enjoying the views. - Third place had a pool and trampoline and all that good stuff! WHAT TO BRING I brought 3 books, and read all of them. Be prepared for many hours in the vehicle, if you don’t get motion sickness I suggest bringing a book, word search or companion! I stayed off technology so I could see the culture of all the different areas, and Evans was a fantastic driver so I kept finding myself falling asleep when we went between events, I usually never sleep in cars with strangers so I was surprised to be awoken for food or when we got to our next destination! Closed toed shoes! You won’t go out much to walk around, but when you do there may be animal poop! Light colors that don’t show dirt, you are riding with the windows open, enjoying the fresh air and the roads often times turn to dust, so wearing all white is not smart. Neck pillow for the car rides, a lot of people fell asleep and their necks hurt from not being supported Chapstick! And electrolytes. I kept forgetting to drink water! Thankfully our guide always had bottles of water available. Local currency, whatever you think of bringing, bring about $100 more. Remember to tip the guides! They deserve it for all the help they give. I brought entirely too much stuff, and didn’t need 70% of it, especially because I only had my limited items until day 4 when I got my stuff! -My luggage was lost by the airline and my stellar guide Evans helped me immediately when I told him, I got it the next day after a few days of trying myself. I suggest bringing a long dress that is sturdy enough to walk around in, but also can manage getting dust on it without looking awful. I was happy to get presents for family and friends at the markets, remember to get a good grasp on KES currency before bargaining with them! I was really excited to learn about all we did. The camaraderie really made my trip to Kenya special. I would 100% do another one with this same group for longer if I could! It was one of the best trips of my 30 years of existence and all my friends are envious I got to be where the Lion King was imagined.
I thoroughly enjoyed the safari. I saw The Big 5 and so many other amazing animals and sites. I feel like it was good value for money. I chose a budget option. All accomodations were clean and comfortable with all the amenities I needed. I always felt safe (travelling as a solo female, this was very important) There was plenty of food at each meal. Not much variety, but that was to be expected given the rural locations. Our driver, David Mukami, gave us essential information. His 4WD skills were excellent and he was great at getting us up close to the animals quickly. I would definitely recommend this tour for those who want a see all in 5 days, on a budget.
We had an unforgettable safari experience in Kenya! The drivers were extremely professional, friendly, and always happy to answer any questions about the animals, nature, and local culture. Their communication and knowledge made the trip even more enjoyable. The vehicles were always clean, comfortable, and in excellent technical condition. We were lucky enough to see the Big Five and many other amazing animals during the safari. Highly recommend this organizer for a smooth and well-organized adventure!
Great experience 4 nights 5 days , solo traveler , multiple small groups were joined together The price was correct with the quality of the safari and the hotels that were mid range all of them inside the nature amazing Food and service Not so many people in the park or in the hotels Rainy season so be prepared for the rain although this didn’t stop us from seeing all the animals Francis our guide had everything very well organized and took us to see all the animals, he also had a great car Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 which definitely required for this type of terrain
