Le parc national d'Udawalawe, sixième plus grand sanctuaire animalier du Sri Lanka, est situé à 180 km de Colombo, dans le secteur centre-sud de l'île. Le parc est situé juste au sud des hauts plateaux du centre, dont l'escarpement constitue un décor enchanteur. Le parc national d'Udawalawe a été créé en 1972 dans le but de protéger le bassin versant du réservoir d'Udawalawe, qui fournit de l'eau pour l'agriculture et la production d'énergie hydroélectrique. Il s'étend sur une superficie de 30 821 m, ressemblant à un parc animalier africain.

Vous commencerez votre visite de Mirissa à 11h00. Votre chauffeur viendra vous chercher à votre hôtel et vous conduira à Udawalawe. Vous arriverez à Udawalawe à 14h30, dirigez-vous vers le parc national d'Udawalawe où vous rencontrerez votre jeep de safari pour faire un joli safari en jeep. Profitez d'un safari de trois heures qui vous donnerait une chance d'explorer l'étonnant parc national d'Udawalawe. Voyagez à travers les marais, les forêts et les prairies du parc qui a été créé comme sanctuaire pour la faune dans les années 1970. Découvrez les oiseaux aquatiques et les éléphants du Sri Lanka pour lesquels le parc est célèbre. Admirez les autres mammifères et oiseaux, ainsi que les reptiles, les amphibiens et les papillons. Après le safari, vous retournerez à votre véhicule et vous reviendrez à l'hôtel à 21h00, pour terminer votre visite.

Awesome experience! Couldn’t recommend enough. We were picked up from our hotel in Weligama and had the 4 hour safari option. We saw over 75 elephants and lots of other wildlife.

Kani drove us to the park and he was fabulous. Janaka was our safari driver and he was excellent. Janaka could spot wildlife, especially birds, which enhanced our experience. The elephants were fun to watch. They are much smaller than African elephants, so we got really close to them. Lots of fun! Be ready for a bumpy ride.

It was a unique and beautiful experience! The organization went smoothly and especially my driver (Kani) was incredibly nice and helpful! Would book a tour or ride with him again at any time! The safari itself was also great. Experience elephants and other animals in the wild is a great experience. Under Safari Guide was also super friendly and was able to show us lots of animals and impart knowledge about them. An all-round successful day!

Super organized safari tour. Already after booking we received via WhatsApp the time of pickup at the hotel with additional information about car and driver. Our driver Suranga was on time. At Udawalawe National Park the jeep was already waiting for us. We had a private tour alone in the jeep. Our driver Darmasiri from Max Safari Villa drove us through the park, alerted us to the partially hidden animals, stopped long enough so that we could watch and photograph the animals in peace. In particular, he also took care not to disturb the animals. At the end of the tour our taxi with driver Suranga was already waiting for us and brought us back to our accommodation in Weligama. We can absolutely recommend the tour!
