Description

It was an awesome day…our guide Ian from African Moon Adventures was fantastic and took great care of us from pick up to drop off. The safari portion was nice but you are at the mercy of the animals…if they want to hide they will but we saw enough creatures to make it worthwhile. The olive / wine tasting was great and informative and for lunch we opted for the brewery instead of the winery and that was enjoyable as well! Great day and great experience!
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a beautiful review. Always appreciate people’s time and that while on holiday to leave reviews. Hope to see you back in Cape Town one day soon.
Loved this tour! Ian runs a first class company and you are taken great care of from the minute you get in the vehicle to the moment you leave the tour. The tour itself is great. Started off at the preserve seeing as many animals as we could and moved on to the olive / wine tasting which was informative and tasty! Lunch stop we opted for the brewery instead of the wine and were able to take a quick tour…met up with the owner and had an informative tasting there as well. The food was great there as well. We did a quick side stop on the way home to a toffee shop that was close by. All in all it was a pretty great day and Ian’s professionalism made it all that much better. He does a number of other tours so no matter which one you pick you will taken well care of.
Wow! This is such a lovely review and recap of the day. I very much appreciate your business and taking the time while on holiday to leave review.
My parents and I were absolutely amazed by this incredible tour. From the very beginning everything was perfectly organized, including the comfortable pick-up and drop-off directly at our house. Our tour guide Ian was outstanding – extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about wildlife, which made the experience even more special. During the game drive we saw an impressive variety of animals in their natural habitat. It was an unforgettable experience and a highlight of our trip that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Thanks again Ian.
Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to leave a great review. Just wish I was better at foreign languages so I could of chatted more to your parents. May your year be blessed.
We enjoyed this excursion from start to finish. We are very seasoned travelers but were always entertained during the safari, olive tasting, beer garden, and sweet shop. Ian is the best guide, both knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with. He made a special point to make a stop in the city for us on the way to the airport also. Thanks for a great day Ian.
Thank you William for your kind words. So happy you enjoyed your 1 day in Cape Town. The wind was terrible so best you come back for a 3rd visit to Cape Town. All the best to you and Barbara.
Ian was very prompt at picking us up. Communicated well about the days activities. Really enjoyed the olive tasting, our first! Carmel/toffee tasting was yummy.ian gave a vey good recommendation for Nelsons Eye for dinner. Very close to where we are staying.
Thank you Pamela for your review. Glad you liked the tastings and Nelson’s Eye.
We had the pleasure of touring with Ian on the final day of our South African holiday. I contacted him early in our planning process and he was extremely prompt in his responses. We decided to do the west coast tour and visited the game reserve as well as on olive farm with tastings. We enjoyed the game reserve and did see lots of animals- the rhinos are apparently not always easy to find on the drive but were up close and "posed" for photos during our drive. We have done wine tastings in the past but never olive tastings and that was different and really enjoyable. We never knew that there were so many olive products available, sweet and savory as well as oils, and some had to come home with us :). Ian was a fount of information and we enjoyed talking with him about so many different subjects. He recommended a great lunch place with an amazing view of the coast and Table Mountain and then ended the day with dropping us off at the airport. We highly recommend Ian of African Moon Adventures
Thank you so much for leaving a long and detailed review. I appreciate the fact that you did this after your loooong flight home to the cold. I trust we shall travel again.
Ian was friendly , entertaining, and knowledgeable about the history of Cape Town. It was a nice tour with wildlife, olive, beer and toffee tastings. A very complete tour and a great way to spend your day in Cape Town.
Thank you Diana for taking the time to leave a lovely review. I had a great day with you guys.
Ian is a great guide and driver. This was a fun trip to a game reserve close to Cape Town followed by an amazing olive tasting and finished in the Darling brewery beer garden. 100%!
Thank you Andreas for leaving a great review. Trust I will see you guys again when next in Cape Town.
We went with another couple on the Wildlife, Beer, and Olive Tour with Ian. He picked us up at the cruise port on the last day of our cruise which ended in South Africa. His vehicle was roomy and comfortable enough for all of us fit along with our luggage. He took us to a beautiful beach just outside of Cape Town—a great photo-op with fabulous views of the beach and Table Mountain. Next, we went to Buffelsfontein Game and Nature Reserve. It was our first experience seeing the wild animals in South Africa and we even got to see a black leopard! We then went to Darling Olives for tastings of delicious olive oils, olive paste, and some terrific South African wines. We’d never done an olive oil tasting before, and it was a very pleasant experience. After that, we went to Darling Brew for craft brew tastings and lunch. Both were wonderful. We visited with Ian at lunch, as well as along the way. He’s an interesting and knowledgeable tour guide, easy to talk to. We ended our tour at Darling Sweets for a taste of homemade toffee. They were so good that we bought some for there trip home. Ian was kind enough to drop us at our hotel, and our friends at the airport which saved each of us an Uber ride. It was a great day! If you’re looking for a tour with a variety of fun places to go, go with Ian—highly recommended!
Thank you Robert for taking the time to leave such a beautiful and detailed review. So glad you all enjoyed it. I see Ginie and Bryan took my advise and did the Douro Valley port tour from Porto, Portugal with Hugo. My new job is international excursion advisor haha.
Ian was awesome and our tour was fabulous from start to finish! We wish we would’ve found him earlier in our trip as he has adventures all over South Africa! Highly recommend!
Thank you so much for great review. Sorry for late reply but I must have missed it with the busy season we are having in the Cape. Trust you will visit Cape Town again one day soon.
