Amazing private tour to Hana! A must do!! We had an awesome day today with Eugene! He showed us some of the most beautiful and unique (non-tourist) spots. We will remember this trip forever!
Aloha Claudia! That was a particularly memorable tour for me as well- I had a blast with Michael & yourself! Great conversation throughout the day, and the island really put on a show for us. I am glad the two of you were game to check out the backside and you enjoyed those off-the-beaten-trail spots. Mahalo nui, Eugene
If the Road to Hana is on your list of things to do in Maui, why not sit back in a spacious and clean SUV and let Nick do the driving. The day we spent with Nick felt like sharing our trip with a very knowledgeable, fun and personal friend. Nick and Ohana tours communication before and during our trip was seamless. We saw everything on the itinerary and actually added a couple things. Nick and Eugene, the owner of Ohana Tours, are extremely helpful and willing to modify an itinerary to suit your wants and needs. This is truly a "private" tour and only includes the people in your group. Book today, you won’t be sorry!
Aloha Jill! It makes my day when I get feedback this detailed & enthusiastic- thank you for taking the time to share! A few of the things you mentioned specifically are the focus of our crew. Making our guests comfortable and feeling like old friends, as well as the chance to customize each day, are both huge parts of the Ohana Tours Maui experience. Mahalo nui loa, Eugene
This was an amazing experience for our entire family and I highly recommend it!!! Travis was the best guide, and the coolest part was how the day was adapted to our family as Travis got to know us. The communication before and during was everything you would hope for when you are looking for a customizable, 5 star experience. I had been to Maui before and always wondered about the Hana experience. We brought our 8, 11, 14, and 15 year olds and they all said at the end of our trip that this was their favorite day of the entire trip! We loved the balance between car time and getting out to explore. It’s an incredible way to experience the beauty of the island from amazing trees (which we loved learning really cool details about from Travis), waterfalls, caves, and beaches. They provided everything- towels for after we all jumped a waterfall, all kinds of waters and snacks. Super flexible stops if a kid needed a restroom, changed their mind about a food truck, or wanted to listen to their music playlist. We did all wear ear patches before to help with any motion sickness and didn’t have any problems. We had other family members I recommended to also book with them and we will absolutely do this again bc there are so many different places to stop and explore!
Aloha Bridgett! Thank you so much for the kind words and detailed review. I really enjoyed hearing about the day out in person too on the drive back to Ka'anapali! I could tell the whole family was absolutely buzzing about the day out. We are fortunate to have Travis as part of the team, a long day on the Hana Hwy is much more comfortable with someone as thoughtful as him. Thank you for recommending us to your family, and I hope we have the chance to share more of the island with your crew in the future! Mahalo, Eugene
This was the most amazing experience! The owner Eugene picked us up at our hotel, and took us to the office where we met our tour guide, Travis, who was amazing. A full day private tour getting to do what we wanted how we wanted! Travis was so friendly it was like touring with a friend, he got to know what we liked and took us to the most beautiful places plus food stops that fit our preferences! The price was unbeatable for such a custom experience, highly reccomend this to anyone looking for a private tour for a good price!
Aloha Tara (I'm guessing this is you!), I really appreciate the review, hearing such positive feedback keeps me fired up about what we do! Travis is an incredible guide, hearing it felt like touring with a friend is exactly the kind of vibe we hope to share. Look us up again the next time you are visiting Hawai'i! Mahalo nui, Eugene
I have no words really, although we did see everything on the description, it was basically a driving tour with many winding roads. Hana itself was nothing to see. Black sand beach wasn’t a beach as one might expect, it was lava rock and really no place to swim. Although tour guide was knowledgeable, we felt his driving was a bit erratic at times and he took us to places that were closed. Waterfalls were not swimable. Wasted 8 hrs in a car was the end result. It would have been much better renting a car and going on our own. If you are considering the road to Hana, rethink it. It’s in our opinion a wasted trip.
Great day with Nick on the road to Hana. Well organized trip with detailed communication on pick up and things to know before the excursion. The ride was comfortable with ample bathroom stops if needed. Nick was well knowledge about historical Maui, island customs as well as flora/ plants native to the area. We hit all the highlights along the way, stopping at waterfalls, beautiful beaches, and killer views. Midway through, we stopped for banana bread, a must diversion! Had lunch in an area full of food trucks, a great way to catch the local vibe. Doing a private tour is a great way to customize your experience!
Aloha Lori! Thank you so much for the feedback-sounds like an incredible day out with Nick! Exploring Hana with someone knowledgeable about the natural & cultural history definitely adds a whole new dimension to the day. Mahalo nui loa, Eugene
Eugene was awesome. Showed us everything we wanted to see, gave us insight on almost every nook and cranny of the road, stopped and got wild fruit from trees for us to taste, stopped when and where we wanted, and even took us to some off the beaten path places that he visits himself that no one else was around to see (and it was a busy road where people were at most every stop). He definitely made sure to help us get the most out of our trip. He even took us around the mountain instead of backtracking from Hana, which was just as beautiful in its own way. Would highly recommend this excursion.
Aloha Alex! I am glad Amanda and yourself were game to check out the backside of the Road to Hana- it is a such a special place to me it is a pleasure to share it. The quiet, off the beaten path places you mentioned are exactly what we at Ohana Tours Maui think is the real magic of this island. Thanks again for booking with us! -Eugene
We had such an incredible experience with Nick as our guide. He’s incredibly knowledgable about all the plants along the road to Hana and also knew a ton about the history of the region. Our favorite stop was a secluded waterfall that other tourists didn’t know about, so we had it all to ourselves.
Aloha Faith! I am so happy to hear you had a great time on the Road to Hana with Nick. Getting to experience a waterfall all to yourselves here on Maui is absolutely a magical experience! Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to hear from you on your next trip to Maui. -Eugene
Excellent day with an excellent guide. Eugene is knowledgeable, professional, relatable and someone we just simply enjoyed spending our day!!
Aloha Jeff! I really appreciate you taking the time to leave your thoughts on the day’s adventure. I really enjoyed chatting with your crew throughout the day- the Road to Hana is special anyways, but sharing it with people who keep it fun makes it better yet! Malama pono, Eugene
Eugene was amazing. And the private experience is absolutely worth it. A road to Hannah. It was the most breathtaking tour I’ve taken.
Aloha Colleen! It is great to hear you appreciated the Road to Hana tour! It means a lot that you thought it was the most breathtaking tour you have taken- I enjoyed hearing about your other recent travels & experiences. Thanks again, and I hope you think of us on future trips to Hawaii. Mahalo, Eugene
