Rome : Visite souterraine et Colosseum Arena (garantie 7 pax)

Above should have no stars but I had to provide a rating. We did not have the tour that we paid for. This tour company wasted hours of our vacation and ultimately did not provide a tour. Furthermore, the Roman Colosseum has free entrance on Sundays and a tour of the underground passages is not available on Sundays because it is closed. I had a very hard time finding a tour on a Sunday, paid over 1,000 USD for a tour for 8 people. Now I know why I couldn’t find a tour on a Sunday. This company falsely advertised their services. Again, entrance is free and the arena underground is not accessible as promised in the description. Bottom line is we do not receive any tour and we spent over 3 hours waiting for nothing.

The tour guide never showed up. We arrived at the appointed place 15 min ahead of schedule. The email said an employee would be holding a green flag with the company name CIS on it. No green flag. We looked and looked, and asked several people, colosseum guest information people confirmed we were right where the email indicated we should be. We waited 15 min after the tour was supposed to leave. Then gave up. Very disappointed as this was booked well in advance, and this was our last full day in Rome. We paid $350 for this tour for two. Thanks a lot, CIS tours. This was a long way to travel to see something amazing, and that chance was ruined.

Having a Tour with the Roman Guy/the Tour Guy was the best tour we have ever been on. We had a private group tour of 9 people with Marta who met us promptly at 11:00am at the front of Coloseo train station and our tour started 11:15am. Marta of course had a list of our names, but she memorized and made each person in the group a priority. She gave each person many opportunities to have one on one conversations and interactions. Now for the tour itself. The entrance was skip the line and we had a brief intro from Marta to the Colosseum. Because we had the underground tour, the actual Colosseum archeologist Eleanor was amazing. She brought us through the entire underground and her knowledge was truly exceptional. When Eleanor was finished with us, Marta finished the Colosseum tour giving us access to the actual stadium floor and took many group photos for us. We went to the second level and two of our people used the elevator to walk with us. Departing the Colosseum we walked past the Florentine Arch and up to Paletine Hill and the Roman Forum. Marta’s knowledge was very extensive and also quite topical mentioning the tic tax toe the Roman’s played on the walls. All of us wish we could rate Marta more than 5 stars. She was thorough, very friendly, and we could not recommend the Tour Guy any higher. Thanks!

I paid alot for this tour and the company lied said they called me no they didn't I have call log. They refused to give me the underground tour as I paid for after 30 min of arguing they only eould give me a tour of the floor. Not what I paid for plus I had to waite in the heat for almost 2 hours before they'd go back yo the coliseum then we rushed through palatine hill and the forum. The worst tour ever. Then the guide bashed catholics and the pope snd promoted his private buisnesd. This was ridiculous

Ourguidec9ntacted ustwo hours before the tour to say there would be no underground tour. They blamed us for nto getting passport information to them 8days before the tour. Even though we bookded the tour five weeks in advance. We did get a guided tour of the Colosseum..but the guide promised to meet us at the exit. Instead we were met by another guide who tookthe group up to the Roman Forum and abandoned us. No tour. Avoid this tour like poison

We signed up for a guided tour of the Colosseum, the underground Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. I specifically rescheduled to include the underground. The guide called 2 hours before the tour to say the underground would not happen and promised a 60% refund. He said the reason given was that they needed our full passport identification submitted 8 days in advance. I booked the tour a month in advance and. Either you or the tour service tools us that. We did have ID on us ar arrival. We sent you a protest email. After the Colosseum tour our guide said he would meet us at the exit. He did not. We were led up to Palantine Hill by another guide but there was no tour guide. We were on our own

I booked our tour at least six weeks in advance. I reserved tickets online for a guided tour with a visit to the colosseum underground. I paid a few days before we left for our trip and eight days before the tour. A half hour before our tour the company called to say there was an issue with me not providing the names of the persons who were going to the underground so they had to cancel my tour. They said that they needed everyone’s name because they had to be “nominated”….I’m not certain what that means but obviously it was a problem. I was quite upset that I had tried to be proactive weeks in advance and that nobody from the company ever tried to contact me until the very last minute to tell me there was a problem. It’s either poor customer service or poor business management in my opinion. After giving me a huge scare that we would not be able to see anything we planned that day they did offer me at our without the underground and offered a fifty percent refund. It’s been several days and I have yet to see a refund. So now I will have to call them and find out when I will get my refund. I had read several reviews about last minute cancellations and I guess I took a chance I would have a better experience. I was disappointed. Also, the headsets they gave out to hear the tour guide were not really great and I sometimes had a hard time hearing the guide. I will say the guide was knowledgeable and the staff at the meeting place searched us out and got us where we needed to be which I think was maybe a different place than we were originally told because of the tour change. I was amazed they figured out in the big crowd how they found us. I give the staff on site and the guide props.

Tour guidE knowledgeable but DID NOT GET what paid for. Arrived in ITALY to find all reservations mysteriously cancelled, (VIATOR-TRIPADVISOR DRAMA I SUPPOSE) despite having 1 tour already pd. for the day before(auto withdrawl) , then spent 1.50 on phone w?Viator trying to rebook everything. Had to change times on multiple tours, this one included. We only did the colosseum, was rushed through , no Roman Forum or Palantine HILL, then given a voucher for AUGUSTUS house for later time if we wanted to (did not plan for this and did not go)I TOTALLY GET this is a popular tour & busy time of year but DID NOT GET WHAT WAS PAID FOR. SAME thing happened with our Capri tour.
