Amazing E-Bike Tour

The tour was very nice. The electric bikes did all the work for us and allowed us to fully enjoy the views of the aqueducts along the Apian Way. Our tour guide, Renato, was especially friendly and knowledgeable about the area and its history. He kept us safe on the roads and took pictures of me and my family. The bike mechanic, Martin, was also very helpful; especially after the tour. We were unfamiliar with the taxi-system so martin helped us out and got us a taxi back to our hotel after the tour had ended. Overall, the tour was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Rome.

Réponse de l'opérateur

Renato was delighted to keep you safe and capture those family memories, and Martin was more than happy to help you navigate the local taxi system. Going above and beyond for our guests is what we do! Hope to see you all again! 🚲🏛️📸🚖

Appia Aqueduct tour with Riccardo

We had a fantastic time on the Appia Aqueduct park tour. The bikes made for easy experience overall. Ricardo was an excellent guide, knowledgable, and friendly. We learned so much on the guided ride and the extreme heat was not an issue with plenty of thought out shady stops. Overall a 10/10 experience.

Réponse de l'opérateur

Wow, a 10/10 review is the best reward! Riccardo is so happy you enjoyed the ride, the history, and those well-deserved shady stops! Keeping you comfortable and making history easy and fun to learn is always our goal. Thank you for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you back again! 🚲☀️🏛️✨

A wonderful experience exploring the Appia way, aqueduct park, and the catacombs on electric bikes.

Riccardo was an amazing guide. He was very helpful when we had questions and was patient when riding the bikes making sure you weren’t left behind. Best tour we did on our trip and really had an unforgettable experience. Exploring the catacombs was also very Interesting. Didn’t expect the history of it to be so rich but it was definitely a good time. 11/10 tour highly recommend.

Fantastic tour with plenty of exercise

Riding the bike in Italy was amazing. Renato our tour guide did an excellent job guiding us and telling us about the history of the Apian Road. I appreciate his patience with me. At the beginning, I was having trouble getting used to the bike, since I have not ride a bike for almost 40 years and he suggested an alternative route, but I tough it out and we did great! The catacombs and the church at the end was amazing with so much history. Learned a lot during this amazing tour. Thank you Renato!

Renato was so happy to support you and suggest alternatives to ensure you felt comfortable. Hearing that you loved the history of the Appian Way, the catacombs, and the church means the world to us. You did absolutely great! 🚲🏛️💪

Incredible Tour and Guide

This is an absolutely great tour. Ours was led by Renato. There were six people in our group. Renato was an absolute star because our group was like herding cats. (Specifically, I refer to my own group of four.) We first went to the catacombs. On the way, my best friend inadvertently did something so that his pedal assist E bike quit "assisting". My friend was bringing up the rear, and when we noticed that my friend was no longer there, Renato biked back a ways and got him going again. My wife and I had been to these catacombs before, but our friends had not. Although we had been there in 2023, the catacombs staff had changed some things around and the catacombs tour was even better than the first time we visited. We then left for the ancient aqueducts. As the group was leaving, I decided to be the last to get water after messing around and not getting it when everyone else did. I told my wife that I would catch up. Unfortunately, there were multiple trails along the way, and I managed to pick the wrong one each time. I finally caught up to the group which had stop for me. (Interestingly, I had asked a man sitting on a bench at the intersection of the trails which way my group had gone. He pointed in the wrong direction. I learned that it may not be in your best interests to listen to random people sitting on a bench.) After I rejoined the group, one of the individuals in my group of four became ill due to a reaction to some medication that she had taken that morning. Renato was very kind and took us to a location where she and her husband (the friend who had managed to make his E bike quit "assisting") were able to take an Uber back to where we were staying. We then continued on the aqueducts. They were incredible to view. (We have fortunate to have traveled extensively in Europe and Greece and my wife and I were amazed by these specific aqueducts.) We finished up by following along the Appian Way back to the location where we had started. (If you have never seen the Appian Way, you will discover why it is such an engineering marvel.) We had a great time and we could not have asked for a better, or more patient, guide as we had in Renato.

Réponse de l'opérateur

Wow, what an absolute adventure! Thank you so much for sharing this incredible, detailed, and wonderfully witty story. 🚲✨ Renato was deeply moved and incredibly proud to read your review—and yes, he officially passes the test for master "cat herder"! From troubleshooting the e-bike pedal assist to tracking you down after your detour (and we've officially noted: never trust the man on the bench!), Renato's priority is always the safety, comfort, and happiness of our guests. We are especially grateful for his quick thinking and kindness in ensuring your friend could safely catch an Uber when she felt unwell. As extensive travelers of Europe and Greece, your high praise for the Aqueducts and the engineering marvel of the Appian Way means the world to us. We are also glad you enjoyed the upgraded Catacombs experience! Thank you for being such a fun group, for your resilience, and for recognizing Renato as the star he is. You are all welcome back anytime for another unforgettable (and hopefully less eventful!) ride with Bicycle Roma!
