Le Temple de Vesta (Latin Aedes Vestae°; italien°: Tempio di Vesta) est un ancien édifice à Rome, en Italie, situé dans le Forum romain près de la Regia et de la maison des Vierges Vestales. La caractéristique la plus reconnaissable du temple est son empreinte circulaire. Étant donné que le culte de Vesta a commencé dans des résidences privées, l’architecture semble être un rappel de son histoire. Le temple existant a utilisé une architecture grecque avec des colonnes corinthiennes, du marbre et un cella central. La structure restante indique qu’il y avait vingt colonnes corinthiennes construites sur un podium de quinze mètres de diamètre. Le toit avait probablement un conduit au sommet pour permettre à la fumée de sortir.

Le Forum de César (en Latin, Forum Iulium) est un forum qui fait partie de ce que l’on appelle les forums impériaux de Rome, où le premier forum de ce complexe a été construit. La construction a commencé en 54 av. J.-C., et a été terminée en 29 apr. J.-C. par Augustus. Tandis que le Forum de César subit des rénovations à l’époque de Trajan et l’année d’après l’incendie de 283 apr. J.-C. Jules César dépensa d’énormes sommes d’argent gagnées durant la campagne de la Gaule (60 millions de sesterces selon Cicéron, 100 millions selon Suétone) pour acheter le terrain et s’approprier des parcelles privées en démolissant les bâtiments qu’ils occupaient dans la région, et où ils s’étaient également implantés malgré les hostilités des Curias. Jules César envoya un Cicéron instruit pour acheter les terres qui serviraient à construire le Forum romain. Le droit romain avait tellement de pouvoir que même les empereurs pouvaient examiner les contrats.

My husband and I had the privilege of taking a private tour of the Colosseum and the Forums on July 14. Our tour guide was Silvia. It was the best tour I think I have ever been on because Silvia is the best guide ever! We had just finished a cruise that began in Venice and ended in Rome, which was great, but we both agree that this tour was the highlight of our travels in Italy because of Silvia. This was our Roman holiday splurge, and well worth it. There were 11 of us in our family, ranging from 4 years old to 76. Before we even started, the tour operator was in contact via WhatsApp to confirm pickup location and timing, which was very reassuring. We had black van service (2 cars) from our hotel to the meeting spot, and then our guide Maurizio was already there waiting for us. We started at 9am and the line and security into the Forum was only 5 minutes, although by the time we got to the Colossuem there was a slight wait for the group entry, but very manageable compared to the regular entry lines. The sites were well worth it, but what amplified the experience was Maurizio's passion and knowledge. He very patiently explained as much as he could to us, answered questions thoroughly, and actively engaged our 7 and 4 year olds. Pickup after our tour was smooth. We were very happy with our overall experience.
