If you happen to get the Guide we did then you should be very excited because she was awesome she went above and beyond. Her name was Atousa.
i booked this on a whim and needed up really enjoyed my tour. my tour guide, Tsion, was knowledgeable and charming.
Thank you, Sofia! We're delighted you enjoyed the Colosseum, Palatine Hill & Roman Forum Tour with Tsion. It's wonderful to hear that her knowledge and charming personality made your spontaneous booking such a memorable experience. We hope to welcome you back soon!
When I booked our tour, one of my children was 17 years old. By the day of the tour, he had turned 18. We checked in with the group, received our headsets, and proceeded to the entrance of the Colosseum. That’s when we were denied entry because the ticket listed him as 17 while his passport correctly showed he was now 18. What was most disappointing wasn’t the entry issue itself—it was the complete lack of assistance from the tour operator. The guide simply collected our headsets, told us to “have a nice day,” and continued the tour without us. We were left outside after paying for a guided experience that we never received. I’ve spent the entire day calling and emailing, and it appears there is no intention of offering any refund or meaningful resolution. Viator, do better. Carpe Diem Tours, do better. Customers understand that mistakes can happen. What matters is how you treat people when they do. Unfortunately, in our case, there was no effort whatsoever to help or find a solution.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Anthony. We’re truly sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced during your visit. We understand how disappointing it must have been to miss out on the tour after arriving ready for the experience, especially after making the effort to contact us for assistance. While ticketing requirements for attractions can be strict, we sincerely regret that you felt unsupported in that moment. We always aim to provide helpful guidance and a positive experience for our guests, and we appreciate you bringing this situation to our attention so we can review what happened with our team. We hope we have the opportunity to better assist you in the future.

Outstanding and knowledgeable tour guide. Our guide was really engaging. We didn't enter the Colosseum but I think this is the perfect tour for someone who wants to gain a general knowledge of the area and it's history.
Thank you, William! We're glad you enjoyed the Rome tour. It's wonderful to hear that our guide's knowledge and engaging storytelling helped you learn more about the history of the area. We appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back soon!
We did not enjoy our tour experience overall. We felt that a lot of the information shared were random tidbits rather than capturing the overall history of the Colosseum. Our tour guide moved on to new spots without ensuring she had the whole group together, and spoke quickly and wordily. We didn’t even catch her name. This all could be partly due to the headphone set quality and the amount of people visiting the monuments at the same time - which is unfortunate considering it wasn’t the time we originally booked for. It does seem, however, that our tour guide studies the history of Rome extensively and maybe an extremely small tour group (1-4) would be better suited to her tour style.
Here's a more polished and professional version while remaining warm and empathetic: Thank you, Amy, for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments regarding the pacing of the tour, group management, and audio quality, as they provide valuable insight into areas where we can improve. We're also grateful that you recognized our guide's knowledge and passion for Roman history, and we will be sure to share both your compliments and constructive feedback with our team. Your experience is important to us, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a more enjoyable tour in the future.
