Dans la Cava Romana della Caffarella, un labyrinthe de tunnels creusés à la main s'ouvre à vos yeux. C'est une expérience unique, une plongée au cœur de la Rome souterraine. Ici, vous pourrez parcourir à vélo les anciens tunnels, toucher les murs creusés par les esclaves et imaginer la vie de ceux qui travaillaient dans ces profondeurs sombres. - Itinéraire : 90 % du parcours suit l’ancien pavage romain de la voie Appienne, dans une zone à circulation limitée (accès réservé aux résidents). Seuls deux courts passages routiers sont prévus : l'un pour entrer dans le parc de l'Aqueduc et l'autre entre Tor Fiscale et le parc Caffarella.
- Modifications d'itinéraire : En cas de célébrations, d'événements officiels ou de manifestations publiques, l'organisateur se réserve le droit de remplacer un ou plusieurs points forts de l'itinéraire afin d'assurer la sécurité du groupe.
- Expérience Guide : Il est obligatoire d'avoir un niveau d'expérience cycliste de base à intermédiaire.
- Test et refus : Un court test d’évaluation sera effectué avant le départ. Le guide se réserve le droit absolu de refuser la participation (sans remboursement) à tout client jugé inapte en raison de compétences de conduite insuffisantes ou d'un état physique/mental précaire.
- Nourrissons : Les nourrissons et les enfants (jusqu'à 20 kg/44 lbs) voyagent gratuitement en utilisant un siège rehausseur fourni.
- Enfants : Les enfants (de moins de 139 cm / 4 pieds 7 pouces) doivent utiliser une extension de vélo (traîneau/remorque).
- Âge minimum pour les vélos électriques : L’âge minimum pour conduire son propre vélo électrique est de 12 ans.

We had a wonderful experience bicycling the Appian way and the Aqueduct park. The scheduling was easy because they picked us up from the city center and the biking was great because everyone could decide how hard they wanted to pedal. As a history teacher, I enjoyed the historical details provided along the trip. My 14 year old son enjoyed the day, and I enjoyed getting away from the tourist traps and heat of the city. Get a break by getting away from the stress of the city center.

This was an excellent tour. Our guide was local and told us some fascinating things about growing up in this area, as well as the history of the ruins we saw. The caves/tunnels were super fascinating. It was cold down there so our guide took us there first to escape the heat wave temperatures outside. And we loved it. The bike ride was really impressive and we learned a lot about the history of the Aquaduct system and the Appian Way highway. Loved our guide. He was so kind.

Amazing tour with Alessio. We had a lot of fun and the itinerary is ideal to not only learn a lot about the area's history, but also experience the spectacular views of the Via Appia, the Aquaeducts and the catacombs / the network running underground in the old quarry. The bikes ran very smoothly and Alessio had so many great stories to tell and details to note along the way. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

We took a private e-bike tour on the Appian Way in June 2026. Alessandro was our tour guide and everything about our experience was amazing! Alessandro gave us a good amount of information, stopped in shaded areas when talking (we went in June so it was very hot), took us at a good speed for our family and offered to take pictures of all 4 of us along the way. I would definitely take this tour when coming to Rome!

My husband and I had a magical trip riding bikes on the Appian road. AleViante was our guide and he was the best. He was interesting and knowledgeable about the all of the history on this amazing road. We saw all the famous ruins on the road … and the aqueducts. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy.
