Tom is a friendly, helpful and experience tour guide. Our whole journey was smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone who want to enjoy Rocky Mountain tour with Tom.
Very beautifull scenaries of glacier mountains tops, rivers and lakes with greenish colors and calm water with images of trees and mountains.
The schedule was well paced. Stops were timed nicely, and there was enough free time in Banff to explore on our own. The highlight for me was Lake Louise, it was absolutely stunning in person, even better than the photos.
This would have been ok if we had an English speaking guide. We had 4 days of a bus full of Chinese people (except for 1 Scottish Couple and ourselves. Our itinerary states English Speaking guide but we never got that. Our Holiday Club Accor Vacation Club booked this tour through Viator. I contacted our Club and complained about what we got. They said they in turn contacted Viator but they would not compensate us in any way. Everything was Chinese, Chinese Restaurants, chinese Winery and a Chinese Ginseng factory. The scenery was fabulous but who knows what the guide was saying. The Chinese tourists were laughing and enjoying the commentary but not us. I will never book anything through Viator again and will never use Accor Travel again either. We came from Australia to enjoy this tour but was very disappointing to say the least. Please check to make sure it is NOT the Chinese tour unless you are Chinese
It was a very well planned itinery. Ryan from first express was accomodating on changes and explaining additional charges on tickets and meals so that there were no surprises. Garry, our guide is very knowleable and experienced. He explained the history and towns and alert us on the perfect photos opportunities on the bus and attractions. All instructions and explainations were in both Chinese and English. Garry also went to extra effort to optimise our experience when the weather prevented us from entering one of the site. He gave clear instructions especially on the glacier experience and personally checks on the safety and comfort of the group. This was the last summer tour but the weather made it a christmas experience in october. A perfect way to start your time in Canada. Will definitely recommend it.
Hi Linda & Vera, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I really appreciate your kind words — it was a pleasure assisting you. I’m glad Gary made your experience so enjoyable and memorable, even with the weather changes. We’ll be sure to share your feedback with him! I’m happy you had such a great time, if you return to Canada, we hope to see you on another tour again!
This was an all round beautiful Tour. Fast paced but If you want to see the Rockies in 5 days I would recommend. Adam our tour guide was very helpful, knowledgeable and he looked after us all. Everyone on the Tour was so nice.
Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the beauty of the Rockies and had a great experience with Adam — he’ll be so happy to hear your feedback. You’re absolutely right, the tour can feel fast-paced, but it’s the best way to experience all the key highlights of the Rockies within just a few days from Vancouver. We really appreciate your understanding and recommendation, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure soon!
Scenery is absolutely fantastic.I don't think you should have multi lingual tours you definitely don't get the full value of the trip
Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the scenery — the Rockies truly are breathtaking. Our tours are hosted as multi-lingual in order to accommodate as many people as possible. However, we appreciate your perspective and hope you were still able to fully enjoy the journey!
The tour is 90% in Chinese language, people who don’t know Chinese language shouldn’t not join the tour. Food also on main meal periods is Chinese food.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that you felt the English explanations were insufficient during the tour. Our tours are designed to be multi-lingual, with commentary provided in both Chinese and English, and we always aim to make the experience enjoyable for all guests. Regarding meals, our main offerings are primarily Asian-style, but we do provide Western and other options on select days to accommodate different preferences. We will also speak with our tour guides to ensure they are even more attentive and accommodating to all guests in the future. If you would like to further discuss, please don't hesitate to contact us at info@1stexpress.com. We truly appreciate your comments and will continue working to improve clarity and meal variety for everyone.
The tour has been terrible not, the following, for the following reasons: 1. The first and last day they are wasted due to the factor, I don’t know the distance between Vancouver and the rocky mountains anymore, but the fact that the two ‘important’ stops are to sell you products. Specifically on the return day you can not see anything of Kaloomps, but only a Chinese establishment of an industrial estate where they try to sell ginseng for gold price. 2. Although the second and third day you see places of dream and unspeakable beauty, they give you barely 10/15 minutes to get off quickly, take a picture and return to the bus. It’s striking to be allowed 45 minutes to buy Chinese tea, and 15 minutes to see the imposing Peyto Lake. The guide constantly rushes you to see him quickly and get to the hotel as soon as possible. Although in some you have a little more time to see the places and read the signs that may be there. For example, on Lake Louise the stop is for lunch and 15 minutes on payment. On the skywalk in Jasper National Park, all you can do is walk the walkway quickly and take a photo of yourself. We arrived here 10 minutes late at the required time because I wanted to read the posters where they explain in detail the formation of the glaciers. I find it terrible to pay money to see these places and just be let off to take a picture. The guide even insists that if you can arrive before the maximum time the better, so you can be at the hotel sooner. 3. The staff is very unpleasant, especially the driver. My boyfriend urgently needed to take something out of his backpack at a stop, and he asked the driver nicely if he could open the trunk. He replied very unpleasantly that no, that we were only going to be 15 minutes in the place (I was with my mobile watching social networks). It is rating that neither the guide nor the driver has the desire or motivation to work. 4.They try to convince you to hire the ‘meal plan’ to steal more money. Good thing we did it!!All the restaurants except two, are Chinese restaurants of friends of theirs!!! and in those that are not they put Chinese food without you can choose. They sell you the story that you have included 3 breakfasts, but in the hotel banff breakfast is free for all hotel guests! Also, breakfast on the day of return tells you to It's going to be done in any place, and the truth is that the place looks good to eat a Canadian breakfast, but if you haven't hired the meal plan consisting of Chinese food, they won't let you eat breakfast on the grounds that they'll take a long time to prepare and that it exceeds the maximum hour. 5. It's a deception the price. In the end, it’s much more expensive than other tours with better looks because they require you to pay $60 per person for tips, which is painful to pay to such vague and unpleasant people. When you hire the tour it says it's $15 per person but it's not true. In short, I do not recommend the tour at all. Better to hire another one. Proves it. the fact that the bus was half empty.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your experience did not meet your expectations. Our 4-day Rockies tour is fast-paced by design to allow guests to see all the key highlights from Vancouver. We understand this can feel rushed at times and appreciate your comments about time at attractions — we’ll continue looking for ways to improve the balance. Regarding meals, our main offerings are Asian-style, with Western options available on select days. Meal plans are optional, and we apologize for any confusion. Our tours are multi-lingual, and we are sorry if English explanations felt insufficient. We’ll also speak with our guides and drivers to ensure all guests are treated respectfully and feel well-supported. Finally, gratuities are suggested per day, per person, and go entirely to our driver and tour guide. We highly appreciate them, as they help recognize the hard work of our team. We value your feedback and will use it to improve future tours. If you would like to further discuss, please contact us at info@1stexpress.com. Thank you.
I had such an amazing time on this 4-day Banff bus tour! As a solo traveler, it was the perfect mix of well-organized, stress-free travel and stunning sights like Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, the group was welcoming, and everything ran smoothly. A fantastic way to experience Banff. I’d highly recommend it!
