I’m not sure how anyone can give this experience less than 5 stars! We spent a beautiful afternoon having lunch and wine under the most beautiful olive tree I’ve ever seen! The food was perfect, the wine was fantastic and we met some wonderful new friends. One of the best highlights of our whole trip!
Our Farmers Table wine tasting, vineyard tour and lunch at Morgado do Quintão was one of the highlights of our time in the Algarve. Our host was fantastic - knowledgeable, full of character, funny and genuinely engaging. We already know a fair bit about wine, but still came away having learned a great deal. Her explanations of the organic vineyard, the vines, and the way they coexist with their natural environment were fascinating and brought the whole experience to life. The wines themselves were delicious, each with its own story and sense of place. It was clear that great care goes into both the vineyard and the winemaking. The lunch was equally memorable. Fresh, local ingredients, beautifully prepared and enjoyed beneath a magnificent 2,000-year-old olive tree in the warmth of the Algarve sunshine. The setting was peaceful, authentic and incredibly special. If you’re looking for more than just a wine tasting, and want an experience that combines great wine, great food, fascinating stories and genuine hospitality, we couldn’t recommend Morgado do Quintão highly enough.
We had the most wonderful lunch under the olive trees at this stunning winery. The setting was beautiful and surrounded by breathtaking Portuguese views and warm sunshine. The food was exceptional, perfectly paired with the winery’s delicious wines that complemented every course beautifully. It was also such a joy meeting people from different countries, sharing great conversations over amazing food and wine. The vineyard visit added an extra touch of charm, giving us a deeper appreciation for the passion and care that goes into every bottle. Everything about this experience was perfect, from the hospitality to the atmosphere. A truly memorable day that captures the heart and beauty of Portugal!

Great change of pace day. Relaxing farm to table meal under a 2000 year old tree with 3 types of their wine which is actually quite good. Then a short tour. Definitely recommend especially on a nice day.

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch & short tour here. Very sociable as you get to sit with other likeminded visitors. All wines we tried were excellent.. sitting under a 2000yr old olive tree on a hot day for lunch with views of the Monchique mountains was a real treat.

A really fun and enjoyable afternoon. Farmers table lunch under the 2000 year old olive tree, sampling good wine (1 white, 1 red and 1 rosé) with traditional food. Host was friendly and knowledgeable. Good mixture of people.

We had dinner and wine tasting under the olive tree. The venue is stunning - a well kept area by the edge of the vineyard under an impressive old olive tree. The sunset is worth a visit on its own! The food is traditional fare done well but this is not haute cuisine and is not pretending to be. We enjoyed the food as it did complement the wine from the vineyard. Morris (the host) was knowledgeable, friendly, and added to the whole experience. This is a locally owned vineyard trying to find extra income to invest in reinvigorating the vineyard. This is what you are supporting when you visit - a worthwhile project! On the negative side when you arrive there is not much of a welcome, and Morris could do with some more help at ‘front of house’
Dear Gros, Thank you very much for your thoughtful and honest review. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the setting under the olive tree, the sunset, the food, and the wines, and that Morris helped make the experience enjoyable and informative. We will be sure to share your kind words with him. We also truly appreciate your understanding of the project behind Morgado do Quintão. As a family-owned vineyard, we are indeed continuously working to restore and develop the property and vineyards, and it means a lot when guests recognise and support this journey. Thank you as well for your constructive feedback regarding the welcome on arrival and front-of-house presence. This is very valuable feedback for us, and we will take it into consideration as we continue to improve the guest experience. Thank you again for visiting us and for taking the time to write such a balanced review. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Morgado do Quintão in the future. Warm regards, Morgado do Quintão Team
Absolutely stunning location, beautiful wines and delicious food. We were served countless courses and even on a table of big eaters food was being sent back because we couldn’t manage it all!
This was our second visit and unfortunately it will be our last. The food was the basically the same as the previous visit, with a main course of pork, salad and potatoes. Odd really because the wines we were served were described as being perfect with seafood and fish. Hmmm. Then the wine. We received a tiny amount of 3 different wines, a white, followed by a red, then a rose. All served in the same glass. To put the quantity in perspective, the gentleman pouring managed to serve 23 people with 3 bottles each time and still had wine left. That equates to around 90ml each per wine. So we each had in total about a third of a bottle to accompany a 3 course meal. Considering we had paid €63 each for the ‘experience’ that is poor value. We can have a 3 course meal with fresh fish and a bottle of wine for €100 for two people at a really good beach restaurant. On the previous visit the gentleman hosting shared a lot about this history of the Quinta. This time we got nothing just some basic info on the grapes used to make each wine. The setting is gorgeous, and the potential is enormous, but there is too much competition on the Algarve for this to be somewhere that we would recommend. The saving grace was Ricardo who was fascinating, friendly and fun. The rest of the staff were invisible.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review, and we are very sorry to hear that your second visit did not meet your expectations, especially after you had previously visited us. We are sorry that you felt the menu lacked variety and that the wine quantities and overall experience did not represent good value for you. Your feedback regarding the explanations during the experience, the staff presence, and the overall service is very important to us, and we will review these points carefully with our team. We are, however, very happy to hear your kind words about Ricardo, and we will be sure to share your feedback with him. Morgado do Quintão is a family project that we continue to develop and improve every year, and honest feedback like yours helps us understand where we need to improve the guest experience. We are truly sorry that this visit did not live up to your previous experience, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us. Kind regards, Morgado do Quintão Team
