Red Light Secrets : le musée de la prostitution d'Amsterdam

Really interesting museum in the Red Light District! You will learn a lot about the history of the area and the prostitution industry. Really enjoyed this museum which took us an hour to walk around.

The only place you can take photos at the red light district. Walk through on your own. I’d do it again

It was a worthwhile museum, definitely. I was sort of looking for more historical references like about courtesans and the like, however, this museum does a great service to explain the present-day social implications of prostitution. The only thing I did not like and wish they would do away with is that ridiculous photo policy. they don't let you enter without taking some cheesy photo that you have the option to buy in the end. You cannot preemptively refuse, knowing you will not purchase this photo. I get what the owners are doing trying to drive merchandise, but this feels forceful and ironically like it removes my rights as a person to have my photo taken.

Eye opening and well worth doing.

This was such an informative experience getting to learning about the Red Light District. We really enjoyed learning about the history, and I would highly recommend to anyone!! It was so much fun!

I love this experience; it was really easy to buy tickets at the door. We paid, went in, then got out audio that we were able to scan on tabs as we went on to find out more information. I loved the part where you got to see possessions that customers left behind. The prostitutes who have died, great facts and interesting information. It wasn't really crowded enough space to stay in an area for a good amount of time before someone else came along! 100% enjoyed this

What a fantastic educational curation of the history of prostitution. We were unsure at first whether to go in, but immediately knew we’d made the right decision when we entered. Full of memorabilia, information and very thorough in the information given. We loved the opportunity to sit in the window, have photos taken which are excellently priced, and the fact that the building is a historic brothel is the perfect location. Super friendly staff and we enjoyed every minute. Would highly recommend to all visitors of Amsterdam!

Absolutely fascinating! It is really eye opening and well worth a visit. The audio guides were brilliant with no issues and the stories you hear throughout the tour will make you laugh, gasp in shock and almost cry.

Visited the Red Light Secrets Museum and found it a really interesting and informative experience. It gave a different perspective on an area that many people walk through without really understanding the history behind it. The museum was quirky in places but also educational, offering an insight into what is behind the famous windows and explaining more about the history of prostitution in Amsterdam and the role it plays today. There were interactive elements throughout and it was interesting to learn more about the experiences, stories and day-to-day realities connected to this part of the city. Worth visiting if you’re curious and want more context rather than just walking through the area — we left feeling like we understood the history and culture of the district much better.
