Difficulté: Haute Durée: 5 heures Distance totale: 2 miles (env. 3 km) Saison: Été (septembre-avril) Taille du groupe: Jusqu'à 12 voyageurs La randonnée sur glace du glacier Grey est une aventure unique de 5 heures qui offre l’occasion rare de marcher directement sur la glace de l’un des glaciers les plus emblématiques de Torres del Paine. Une fois le groupe prêt, un bateau zodiac vous transportera sur une plage isolée près du bord du glacier. Là, vous ferez une randonnée d'environ une heure à travers la moraine rocheuse pour atteindre le point de départ. Après un briefing complet du guide sur la sécurité, vous enfilerez vos crampons et embarquerez pour une randonnée de 2,5 heures à travers la surface du glacier – un voyage inoubliable à travers un monde gelé de crevasses, de glace bleue et de paysages à couper le souffle. INFORMATION IMPORTANTE: Pour pouvoir faire la visite à 8h30 il est essentiel de passer la nuit au Grey Camping ou au Refugio la veille Pour pouvoir faire la visite à 14h30 il est indispensable de passer la nuit au Camping ou au Refugio Grey à la fin de l'activité

I booked the 8:30 a.m. departure after having breakfast at 7 a.m. at Grey Hostel. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the hostel to the tour meeting point, following the signs. We reached the glacier by motorboat, and we were provided with crampons and ice axes. The tour was led by two guides. We didn’t go very far onto the glacier, but they showed us a river right on the ice where we could collect drinking water. We returned around 12:00–12:30 p.m., which left enough time to have lunch at the hostel and still plenty of time to walk to Paine Grande Hostel.

Good experience. Helpful and well prepared guides. Good equipment and clear instructions. Definitely recommend it as an add-on to the W trek. We stayed the night at Refugio Grey and it made for a great afternoon activity.

Carlos and Mickey were fabulous guides who showed us many highlights as we walked across Grey Glacier. They took the time to ensure everyone was safe, had ample time to take photos and see lots of caves, deep ravines and blue pools in the Glacier itself.
