6 Day Rainbow Mountain and Ausangate Trek-Amazing Experience!
We booked the 6 day Rainbow Mountain and Ausangate Trek through Flashpacker Connect. They were very responsive, clear in communication, and did an excellent job of planning and adapting to our group's specific needs for the trip. We were very happy with the company itself.
What really had us impressed was the team that was with us on the trek. Fredy the guide, William and Jose the cooks, and Tomas and Eloterio the horsemen were such an amazing group of human beings and the trek wouldn't have been the same without them. They had such genuine friendliness and were supportive, fun, patient, and everything that makes a team great. The food was incredible, the energy was always positive and fun, and Fredy was such a wealth of local knowledge and did an outstanding job at making our trek the best it could be. He's even good with a camera! When we return to Peru we will request the same team for any trek they are available.
The trek itself was also incredible. The views were some of the best we've seen anywhere in the world, there were very few people, and every day was different so it never got repetitive. What surprised us is that, even though we took a side hike to visit Vinicunca the popular rainbow mountain, we saw at least five other isolated rainbow mountains during the trek!
We have been using Flashpacker Connect for several trips now, and each time they come through with an incredible experience. This was no exception and we highly recommend using them for any treks in Peru. And try to get Fredy as a guide, he's absolutely the best!!

Highly recommend this trek!! Once in a lifetime
Raul and Felipe were incredible guides to our trek. They made the trip fun, kept our spirits high as we pushed through the altitude struggles, and taught us SO much about traditions and history of the area. The food was the most incredible spread we could have ever expected. Three meals a day kept our bellies satiated. This trip was the perfect combination of physical and mental challenge and being spoiled with the hospitality and incredible views.
It takes an army to make this happen. Everyone works so hard - very special experience.

Amazing 6 days around Ausangate
I had a great week with AB expeditions. Well organized, great food, well guided. Thank you to my guides Felipe Sr y Felipe Jr, to our cooks, Mario, Martin and Anny and our hard working horsemens Fernando and Mario.

Memories for life
Wow what a great trek! I will have memories of this for ever. Felipao and Felipe were great guides but my hat really must come off to the hard work performed by the chefs Martin, Mario and Anny who performed culinary magic with the basic equipment they had to hand. My girlfriend and I are vegetarian and we never went hungry. They even managed to make a cake on a gas stove! Besides the food, the horseman (Fernando and Mario) made the trip as comfortable as possible. They were erecting and dismantling tents, carrying bags, tending to horses etc and they all did so with great smiles and humour. The group was like a family for the week.

Ausangate 4D/3N unforgettable
We did the 4 day, 3 night Ausangate trek with AB expeditions, we loved the experience, among the best in Cuzco, the whole team was spectacular. The food with the 3 cooks was very satisfying, in addition to the support of the two muleteers always attentive to our things. We would like to highlight the participation of our two guides, Felipe and Felipao, gave us the best experience along the way. Very satisfied with AB expeditions ⛰️ 🏔 🌄

Amazing trek!
What an adventure! Every day, the scenery impressed with such diverse and beautiful landscapes. Fredy was an exceptional guide. He was supportive, knowledgeable, encouraging, and sincerely passionate about the culture and land. Our chefs, Clemente and Wilbur, were outstanding and our horseman, Clímaco so hard working! I would highly recommend this challenging trek!

Spectacular experience
Our trek through Ausangate and finishing at Rainbow Mountain was simply spectacular. Flashpacker did all the heavy lifting (quite literally) and our guide Miguel was awesome. He spoke Quechua and knew a lot of the local culture and what Ausangate means to the people in the area. He was incredibly friendly and was a great steward to make sure our experience was going to be a great one.
On this trek (and they have multiple ones for varying lengths) you will get to experience stunning landscapes and views of Ausangate, a peak nearly 21,000 feet tall.
Originally from Colorado and used to hiking at elevation, the altitude didn’t slow us down but for those not acclimated to higher elevations I would strongly recommend at least 3 or 4 days in Cusco. Our max elevation on the trek was 16,460 feet.
We had two muleteers, a cook, a waiter, and a guide. They were all great! The food was bountiful and we got served three meals a day.
If you have the time and are in good physical shape—I would strongly recommend this trek. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

Andes Mountain Adventure
Wow! Hiking the Andes mountains with Flashpacker Connect was incredible. Our guide, Miguel, took great care of us, making sure we were taking breaks and drinking water. The elevation is no joke! He also gave us the true Andean experience, explaining the culture and history of the place. There is an incredible variety of landscapes you see on this trek and all of them breathtaking. In addition to our guide, we had two mulateers, a cook and a waiter that made this trip comfortable and memorable. We had amazing food (and a lot of it!) each day and we’re very well taken care of. While it was chilly at night, we were never cold due to high quality sleeping bags, hot water bottles, and extra blankets. We even woke up to snow on the last day! This was a once in a lifetime adventure that was executed by an amazing team!
