A weekend away made so much better by spending a day with Andras (our tour guide) trekking through woodlands and working up a sweat. Got to climb some steep inclines and once to the top, we had the pleasure of a spectacular view and a chance to rest. We then descended and heading off to the Danube bend to do some kayaking. The water was perfect to cool off in, and views breathtaking. Got to stop off at the hippie bar, which was well deserved. Thank you Andras for a fabulous time!
We went on a beautiful May day. The cool weather was a blessing for the hike. The guide knew exactly where to go and we went at a vigorous pace. Challenging and fun. The kayaking part was my favorite as we had the Danube to ourselves and the birds. Kayaking on the Danube is a wonderful way to experience Hungarian beauty. Thank you to our guide Gyuri and his colleague for organizing everything and great driving.
Our group of 3 adults and 2 children (11 and 7 years old) loved our experience hiking and paddling down the Danube. Parts of the hike were a little strenuous for the kids, but Gyuri adjusted the pace and made the whole day fun for everyone. Book it! :)
This was a highlight of our trip - Gyuri picked us up from our hotel which was super convenient and drove us an hour from Budapest. It was an awesome active day, which was a wonderful contrast to what we had explored in the city. Gyuri was very attentive and informative. He kept checking in that we were going at a good pace for us and if we needed rest stops. It was really such a lovely day. I highly recommend this.
We had a great experience with Gyuri. Organisation was smooth and he even dropped us at the airport for our flight home. Gyuri has great wildlife knowledge and we spotted several woodpeckers during our hike. The kayak adventure on the way back wqs a highlight of our trip to Budapest and following this we stopped off for Langos at a local cafe. Highly recommend the whole experience.
Absolutely unforgettable and amazing! This experience was everything we hoped for and more — the perfect escape from the buzz of the city into the calm and beauty of Budapest’s nature. 🌿 It felt like stepping into a hidden gem where you can truly unwind. We couldn’t recommend it enough — a must for anyone looking for something special!
We had the best time on this trip, a perfect mix of gentle hiking, peaceful kayaking, and great company. The views were stunning, and being out on the water was such a refreshing way to explore the Danube Bend. Our guide was warm, relaxed, and really knew the area , we felt in safe hands the whole way. It was active with lots of stops for amazing views snacks and swims and a lovely way to spend time together doing something different. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a day out in nature with a bit of adventure! —Rebecca & Zach (UK)
What a fabulous day! The highlight of our trip to Hungary. Gyorgy and Nikki were the best guides and hosts. Friendly, interesting, knowledgeable, professional! Every aspect was first rate. I strongly recommend.
I would 100% recommend this experience to anyone visiting Budapest! George was super helpful during the booking process and Laci was a great guide - he was knowledgeable about the area and made the day memorable. I booked this trip solo and it was a great way to meet other travellers. It was a good way to see more of the country. The hike was steep in parts but the views were stunning. It was also nice to see the area for the canoe. We also stopped on the way for a swim which was perfect on a hot summer's day.
Gergő took us on a very peaceful kayak trip on the Danube, he was very knowledgeable about Hungary's history and we had great conversation. He helped, provided guidance and even recommendations of other locations to visit as if we had known him for years. I cannot recommend it enough if you want to have a bit of quiet time away from the city center.
