Colca Canyon is a beautiful place. The scale of it is unreal and photos can't do it justice. The tour was well organized and the guides were great. The 2 lodges we stayed at were comfortable and the food was fresh and filling. This hike is not easy. The trail is mostly loose gravel and fist sized rocks. The elevation is a challenge as well. I'm an active hiker and I'm in good shape but still struggled. Overall it was a great experience and a chance to see a truly magical, isolated part of the world. Please just be prepared for the difficulty.
Wilmar is an amazing guide, we had such a good time with him. The scenery of the landscape is incredible and such an adventure! Thank you Wil!
Recently book a tour to Colca Canyon which by the way is a wonderful place. I contacted the agency by email and Wilmar responded quickly to my emails and doubts that were several. In the end, I took the 3-day trek tour, it was the right thing to do as I had no experience in that type of activity. Wilmar was very patient with me and always gave me the directions of the case, The food and accommodation were excellent quality. I just had to worry about my drinks, everything else Covered. The Service is highly recommended and is conducted in a very professional and friendly manner. I will definitely recommend it to my friends.
Estimada Helena, Es de nuestro agrado leer tu comentario y estamos mas que felices de saber que el tur fue de tu agrado total. Esperamos con ansias poder ayudar a tus amigos en su proxima visista a Peru.
I had an amazing time hiking Colca Canyon for 3 days. The views were breathtaking, hiking was fun & challenging, food was delicious, and my guide Wilmar was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend! If you have the time, 3 days felt like a good amount of time and you have more time to enjoy afternoons in the canyon. 2 days is quick but efficient if you are on a tight schedule. On a more serious note it can sometimes be stressful as a solo lady traveler and Wilmar made me feel very safe and was nothing but professional.
Wilmar was fantastic! He was responsive when booking and extremely knowledgeable on the trail answering our many questions. The trek was wonderfully arranged with great accommodations and food. You can't beat the views on this three day adventure. Would recommend!
One of the best decisions I’ve ever made was booking this 3 day trek with Peru Breathtaking Trips. I’m always a little cautious when booking these sort of things myself, but when I met my guide Wilmar I knew I had nothing to worry about. The entire trip was well planned; his experience in trekking, guiding tours, and impressive knowledge of the area really made the experience more worthwhile. He easily assessed how to pace out our trekking based on my abilities and was very helpful and encouraging when I struggled with a bout of altitude sickness, which I think was the only negative to this entire trip. The food I got to try and people I met hosting the lodges and throughout the villages/communities were all amazing and I’ll never forget the kindness and generosity I was shown. I highly recommend this agency and trekking trip if you’re adventuring in Peru!
Hello, Thanks for writing this wonderful review about the trek. We are happy to know that the whole experince was great for and that you have memories that will last for long.
Awesome 3-day trek, the guide goes at your own pace and speaks French 👍🏼 Accommodation in a hotel on the first evening and in a beautiful location on the second (but in cabins where the insects fit in)
Salut, merci d'avoir écrit un avis sur le trek. Nous espérons avoir bientôt vos amis ou vos proches.
My wife and I spent 3 lovely days with Wilmar who evaluated our abilities and tweaked the trip to suit us. Wilmar is a very competent and likeable guide and organizer who is both entertaining and knowledgeable. We had a great trip and highly recommend booking treks with Peru Breathtaking Trips.
I can't say enough about this 3 day trip to Colca Canyon to see the headwaters of the mighty Amazon River at 16,877' on Nevado Mismi with Wilmar Dias and our driver Hermano. Wil patiently answered our hundreds of questions and Hermano heroically drove us through all the rough dirt roads. I'm so pleased I chose Peru Breathtaking Trips as we traveled places in the 4x4 that the big tour buses never go. The family stay in Sibayo was delightful, with gracious hosts and great meals, we learned a lot about the local culture as well as the Inca culture.
we booked the private tour, with the Peru Breathtaking, a 3 days 2 nights trip from Arequipa to the Colca Canyon region :-) before the trip my wife looked up the info via Trip Advisor, ran info this Tour Agent, I was a bit doubtful if it's reliable to find a good operator via on-line ? her decision finally !!! the trip turned out to be a very memorable one :-) Wilmar, the guide, was nice, very R eliable, knowledge ! he is a young, yet mature man who know how to take care his customer ^_^ one thing we appreciate is that he won't "overdone" when he was trying to "brief" us the tourist attraction information, yet, when we found it interesting to inquire more in-depth, he was enthusiastic to tell us more, we learned a lot from him about the incan culture, the peruvian way of life ! on our way from Arequipa to Colca (1st day), the driver Huber, took a alternate road that was bumpy (roads condition), but we found it worthwhile as Wilmar took us to a mountain outlook, a easy hike, to see an ancient Incan cave, where we saw a lot of ancient walls paintings, in hindsight, we didn't believe the site, with such high value anthropologically, is so easily accessible without anyone to man it, not to mention any proper signage or entrance -.- Wilmar told us that he didn't bring every visitor here , it depends on the weather, the way he budget the time, we didn't ask him the details of his itinerary logistic behind, but we feel really thankful that we were there :-) the driver Huber, can't speak English, but he is a lovely young man too !
