Ayuu was so friendly and even helped me to climb by holding my hand. In some parts it is pretty slippery with the many volcanic rocks falling as you climb. It is very windy and cold at the top, my fingers and toes went numb so bring a jacket and long pants for the top. In some parts it is very steep so be prepared for that.

Gorgeous hike with very helpful guides! The hike was a bit more difficult and steep than expected but the guides were kind enough to hold my hand and help me through the rocky areas. My guide even held my bag. And the guides took amazing photos of me!
It was an incredible experience, quite difficult for those who are less athletic, but magnificent. The guide ModeRum and the driver Arjana were adorable and available; they make a great team.
Climbed Mt Batur for sunrise. Great transfer from Sanur at 2am. Arrived 3:30. Left by 4. Up the top for 5:30am. Sunrise was stunning. Volcanic plumes. Great views. Walk all the way up to the point top ! Well worth it. Our guide was Ketut he was great ! He was helpful all way up. Stopping for us. Finding us. Helping find the way. Getting us warm drinks at the top and food. 100% recommend. We had a lovely climb. Tips . - chilly morning. Bring layers. Hat. Good shoes as ground is dusty. U will get v dusty. - toilets at the base only. - don't expect it to be quiet. very busy ! V popular event.
We had an amazing experience hiking Mount Batur with Ketut as our guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and shared interesting information about the mountain and the local area throughout the hike. What really stood out was how attentive he was to everyone in our group. He made sure we were all safe and comfortable, regularly checked in on us, and was always ready to lend a hand on the steeper, more difficult sections of the trail—even holding our hands to help us across tricky areas when needed. His patience and encouragement made the climb much more enjoyable and gave us confidence throughout the hike. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and would highly recommend Ketut to anyone planning to hike Mount Batur. Thank you for making it such a memorable experience!

Iwan was amazing. Super knowledgeable about the mountain and the history. He took FANTASTIC photos at the top. He was a true professional, if you get Iwan as your guide you will be very lucky. Gede was an awesome diver as well he was early to pick me up and got us to the mountain in plenty of time.
