La Cordillère Arc-en-ciel de Palccoyo est la première sœur de la célèbre montagne aux sept couleurs, "Vinicunca", mais avec une meilleure accessibilité. Ce sont plus de neuf mille hectares naturels qui ont une couleur similaire à l'arc-en-ciel, ce qui lui donne une atmosphère joyeuse et en même temps mystique. En plus d'apprécier cette beauté géologique, nous visiterons également d'autres sites qui feront de cette visite une expérience inoubliable.

Itinéraire
Nous viendrons vous chercher à votre hôtel à Cusco vers 4 h 45. Ensuite, nous traverserons la magnifique vallée du Sud jusqu'à Checacupe. C'est une belle ville coloniale où vous pouvez vous étirer, prendre une collation ou utiliser les toilettes. Vous verrez son pont de corde historique, ses maisons coloniales et une église du XVIIe siècle avant de continuer vers Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain. En chemin, nous passerons devant des villages andins isolés, et votre Guide partagera des informations sur la vie et les traditions locales. Au départ du sentier, profitez d'une boîte à collations avant d'entamer la randonnée douce vers le sommet. Le parcours passe par la superbe forêt de pierre (Bosque de Piedras), merveille naturelle de formations rocheuses déchiquetées. Depuis le sommet, profitez d'une vue imprenable sur les vallées colorées et les sommets enneigés. Découvrez les mythes andins et comment les habitants se connectent avec la nature. Après avoir exploré, nous descendrons, nous nous arrêterons à Checacupe pour déjeuner, et nous reviendrons à Cusco à 18 h 30.

High altitude hiking is not easy but doable. The guide was fantastic and supportive at all times providing us with essential oil to help with altitude sickness. The views from the top are fantastic albeit the colours are not as vivid as shown in the publicity pictures. There are 3 mountains which become apparent further up you go. Not an easy hike but very rewarding in the end.

We booked the Palccoyo Mountain Easy Tour wg the great description with the many included stops like Raqchi & Cuatre Lagunas and the later start time. When the tour was confirmed by the provider, these stops simply fell out. Without these stops we didn't want to do the tour. The provider did not want this and has not yet transferred any money.... Just bad!!!

We had a great time with Markos and Kevin as our tour guides. Spoke great English so it was easy to communicate. They also know the native language Quechua. We are from Orlando, Florida, USA and Markos and Kevin made us feel so welcome in his country. The drive from Cusco to the mountain was fun and scenic. Lots of alpacas and llamas! After the mountain, we went to the local restaurant that had delicious cafeteria style food. We are definitely coming back.

Well worth the visit. The Rainbow Mountains are quite distinct and interesting day trip from Cusco. The views are spectacular nd we even had a chance to interact and meet the people from the local community. Overall a fantastic and unforgettable experience.
had a time of my life on this tour to the Rainbow Mountains of Cusco with Marko, my guide. The tour was very nice with a lot of sights to see on the way up to the summit. Marko speaks good English and has a good knowledge and experience on treking up the Rainbow mountains. Every thing was just as it was mentioned in the itinerarty and well organised.
Marko is a wonder man, yes that´s what we named him. The trip was fantastic, Marko did a great job in organising this trip in a great manner.
