Kevin was great at teaching us how to use the kayak as we had never used one before. He spoke to us about the wildlife and showed us the monitors and there were some eagles as well. We went on the water and he told some traditional lore about rainbow beach. We saw a pod of dolphins surfing the waves and that was awesome! The bus was really tall and took the beach really well. Overall it was a great trip and would 100% recommend to anyone fit and wanting an informative and safe adventure
Great day out. Wonderful experience with dolphins on the sea kayaking.
Long haired Seb was very knowledgeable of the area, obliging and friendly with interesting yarns to tell. The crystal clear water was great for kayaking and swimming.
The guides were easy going and explained everything very well. The equipment was good. The way to get to the spot offers great views of the colour changing dunes, it's good to see a longer part of them. We saw several dolphins, not very close, several times. The guides paid attention that the dolphins did not get stressed by the kayaks.
This tour was a disappointment. The 4x4 trip is over promised (ie an old, stuffy van driving along a beach, just like all the other cars on the beach). The kayak spot is on the open ocean, you kayak out and return back. Seems like a low chance there would be any sea life. If you really want to see dolphins, take a jet boat tour that can find a pod and drive nearer to it.
Hi, Our tours are designed as low-impact, small-group adventures in a remote national park, using custom-built 4WD vehicles to access areas you simply can’t reach on sealed roads. Beach driving at Double Island Point is a unique experience in itself, which most people really enjoy. Our ocean kayaking takes place in the open ocean, which is exactly where dolphins, turtles and whales naturally live. We don’t chase wildlife or use engines — instead, we operate quietly and respectfully. As a result, we see dolphins on around 80% of our kayak tours, often swimming alongside or beneath the kayaks, with whales regularly spotted during whale season. We understand this style of experience isn’t for everyone. Guests looking for fast boats or guaranteed close encounters may prefer a motorised option, while those wanting a more ethical, nature-based experience tend to absolutely love what we do. We appreciate the feedback and wish you all the best in your future travels.
An eventful 4x4 ride on the beach; a real thrill ride! Very pleasant kayak trip in the early afternoon to better see the marine fauna. At this time of year (end of October), we could see dolphins, turtles including the famous "green turtle" from the movie "The world of Nemo" which can be a hundred years old! On the way back, we could observe these delusional "soldier crabs". JB, our guide was very nice and very funny. He explained a lot about this particular natural environment. I recommend!
Absolutely amazing experience me and Kyla loved it, saw so many whales and dolphins. Having the whales swim under the kayak was surreal Vince and val where great guides Deffo do it if your in rainbow
Very friendly and competent hosts and guides. Interesting information along the way. Were lucky enough to have great weather, blue and clean water. Saw heaps of dolphins and a breaching whale. Surfed in for an exciting finale. Very enjoyable day.
Epic journey, perfect weather. Felt comfortable with the guides, based on beginners experience and flexible tour exploring and spotting the marine life. Some education, but got up close to heaps of dolphins and following a mother n calf. Even chance to surf a wave back to shore. 5/5 stars. Come prepared with water and light snacks.
Deb was the perfect guide & this tour was so much fun & well organised ! I had no kayaking experience but that wasn’t a problem Loved it
