Rafting & Tyrolienne Rivière Urubamba 1 Jour

Rafting was great fun - low rain meant smaller rapids but nature is nature and still made for a great experience. A few moments of disorganisation. Zipline safety could be massively improved by some basic hand signals to say when to stop and a few moments more explanation - but I'm probably holding them up to European standards here. Bit of a miscommunication with the transport - they struggled to find us in the morning (despite a Google maps link to our correct address in their confirmation email). We asked if we could take our bags and be dropped to a different place in Cuesco since we were changing accommodations. We're told it was not a problem only to be told on the trip back that they were only dropping off in the central square. Not the end of the world, but we would have uber'd our bags the night before has we known and it made for a bit of an exhausting walk through crowded streets (it didn't make sense to Uber from where we were dropped).

I cannot rate the actual experience as this team never picked me up. I am a frequent user of these day trips and am accustomed to a confirmation message the night before. None was sent ao I reached out myself. At 0300 I got a message to be outside my hotel ready 0800. We'll it's now after 0900, im still waiting and still no one has contacted me.

Wonderfully organised white water rafting and zip wire day. Jaun Carlos clearly communicated pick up instructions., was very informative on the journey to the camp and did a good safety briefing. The camp itself was great with excellent facilities. Some Equipment is getting old but perfectly functional. 3 course lunch was superb. The white water rafting was superb and a real thrill. We were lucky to get 2 category 4 sections in the many rapids. I’ve white water rafted before elsewhere including Colorado and although beautiful scenery on my other raft experiences this was by far the best. It’s a real family adventure. We were a group of 8 ultra sporty people from the same gym most of which also compete in Hyrox, iron man and long course and high altitude trekking but 2 of us had to Join a Dutch family who had kids age approx 9 & 11 and they were able to take part in the activity without it being toned down for them…we couldn’t fault this trip at all.

Unbelievable experience. The river scenery is remarkably beautiful throughout the valley. Very boutique and intimate experience unlike many US raft trips.

Had a great day, facilities and staff were all so friendly and super professional, Very considerate as I was a single female with 13 year old daughter.

Juan Carlo was a great guide! It was just my husband and I since it was low season but Juan Carlo led us through a great rafting trip. The facilities were great and lunch was delicious.

Amerigo of the Mayuc rafting company was our guide for our daylong zip line and rafting experience. He met us at our hotel and walked us to where the van was parked. Cesar drove us to the lodge, which was about 2 hours away, on the other side of Urcos. We ziplined first, across the river and back. Each trip was quick but enjoyable. We did it first because it was the rainy season, and when it rains in the Cusco area, one event comes through in the early afternoon. By the way, the rainy season should not be ignored in the area near Cusco, for rafting or any other activity. Do not be deterred by the term, “rainy season.” It means there likely will be a shower or storm each day, usually coinciding with lunch. Because it was the “rainy season” but a relatively dry one so far, our trip consisted of mostly Class 2 and 3 rapids, with a couple that bordered on Class 4. This was perfect for us, as it was the first-time trip for our son. The amazing thing to me was that even though there were only two of us, I counted at least 4, maybe 5, people working at the lodge who helped make our day a safe success. Amerigo could not have been a better guide. Cesar, our driver who also made our good lunch, got us there and back conveniently. There was a safety guide in a one person raft who accompanied us down the river. I observed at least one woman helping with lunch and preparing the nice sauna we took after rafting. I felt bad that we were the only two people there. Take advantage of the smaller crowds of the “rainy season” and come to this magical part of Peru. And when you do, the team at Mayuc will give you a fun and enjoyable experience.
