Comprehensive and informative tour of Punta Arenas. Geraldo is an excellent tour guide. His love of the area and its history is evident.
Dear Friend, Thank you for your kind review! I’m very glad you enjoyed discovering Punta Arenas and that the history and spirit of the area came through clearly. It was a pleasure sharing the day with you. I hope Patagonia welcomes you back someday! Warm regards, Gerardo Amigos Patagonia
We had a fabulous day with Gerardo in and around Punta Arenas; I had some specific requests and he accommodated everything we wanted to see. He was fun to hang out with and very informative. This was supposed to be a group tour but no one else booked; Gerardo reached out to me and offered us the tour anyway and we were happy to accept. We really enjoyed the day.

You want to see the city and not miss a spot..this is the tour. There is so much history and boy the island and food. Thank you Girardo for making our day bright and sunny. The walk to the shore and also the comfort of driving around and seeing Punta Arenas. Thank you.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. We’re really glad the tour allowed you to explore Punta Arenas comfortably and without missing any key spots. Simple tour but show everything you need to know about Punta Arenas. Pretty economical and very friendly staff.
We were told there is absolutely nothing to see except penguins. Well, we wished to see just the penguins! Well, it was such an exciting thrilling experience! BUT…BUT…we found an extremely vibrant city with bustling bazaars and cafes and such an air of joyous atmosphere! Incredibly fun! And we found a Hindu temple which was closed but more than that we found three statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore and Mother Theresa….one finds statues of Gandhi but of the other two! We loved the city for the cheerful and truly HAPPY air about it and loved it because it was so very unexpected!!! Actually, we loved Chile and we loved the people of Chile …wherever we went, whatever we did…be it Valparaiso, Attacama, Santiago or Patagonia! …and totally crime free, super efficient officials and flawless management! Friendly and helpful! If one could learn Spanish and settle down there! Would be Bliss!
Our tour guide was a young enthusiastic lady and we appreciate her but she should learn how to be a tour guide -- cuz we ended up asking all the questions instead of her explaining the whole thing to us. The lunch was not what we expected - it was in a place similar to an old school cafeteria. Am not sure why. There was not much to see in the park and one cannot read anything as nothing was in english.
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm truly sorry to hear that your experience on the Punta Arenas & Strait of Magellan Park Value Excursion did not meet your expectations. At Amigos Patagonia, we strive to provide engaging, informative, and seamless tours, and I regret that we fell short in this instance. We appreciate your comments regarding the guiding experience, and we will make sure to provide additional training to ensure all our guides deliver a more proactive and informative experience without relying on guests to lead the conversation. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve. Regarding lunch, we always aim to offer a local and authentic experience, but I understand it didn’t meet your expectations. We will take your comments into account as we evaluate our restaurant choices. As for the Strait of Magellan Park, while its beauty lies in its historical and natural significance, we understand that language barriers can be a challenge. We will explore ways to enhance our explanations to make the experience more accessible and engaging for all visitors. Again, I sincerely appreciate your honest feedback. If you ever return to Punta Arenas, I would love the opportunity to provide you with a more enriching and fulfilling tour experience. Best regards, Gerardo P. Jaque
We were fortunate to have the owner, Gerardo, as our guide for the day. There was a long delay with the tenders due to rough seas but Gerardo made sure we still got to see everything without feeling rushed. He was very knowledgeable on things in nature (pointing out different plants and their links/usage with early settlers), the history of the area and showed us unique local places that other tours don’t visit. The boat museum was a highlight. A wealth of knowledge and a man proud of his heritage.
Hello, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and kind words! It was truly a pleasure guiding you through Punta Arenas and the Strait of Magellan, and I’m so glad we were able to make the most of the day despite the tender delays. My goal is always to provide a flexible and immersive experience that showcases not only the well-known highlights but also the unique local spots that many visitors don’t get to see. I’m especially happy to hear that you enjoyed learning about the native plants, their historical uses, and the deep history of the region—Patagonia has so many fascinating stories to tell! Your kind words mean a lot, and I truly appreciate you recognizing my passion for Patagonia and its heritage. Thank you for choosing Amigos Patagonia, and I hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure in the future! Best regards, Gerardo P. Jaque
Having a private guide and driver allowed us to gather so much more information about the region. We could tell how much our guide loved her home area.
Our guide Valentina was friendly and exuberant. Our driver Felipe was very competent and very nice. We enjoyed the tour
This was a great day out with Juan, who is the most passionate and entertaining guide. His knowledge of the history, flora and fauna of the area and his love of the area was captivating. Empanadas and red wine in a roadside cafe, in a hut in a howling gale in the edge of the continent was a memory I will keep forever. Additionally I felt absolutely confident that I would return in time for all aboard.
