We wanted a city tour, not a shopping tour. All the stops were expensive. I only managed to take a photo of the Puerto Vallarta arch and sign after the church; all the rest were shopping tours. Tequila was very expensive. You can get a premium one in duty-free when coming home for $50 USD, and it's blue agave. Lunch was too expensive, too. I got lobster and fish, which were not fresh. I felt a tingling, stinging, burning sensation around my mouth and throat for 1,300 pesos. We didn't have a chance to buy souvenirs and gifts. This tour will drain your money.
Very lovely experience and tour guide was the best! Gave so much history of the town and anything we were being presented! Such a beautiful and memorable experience!
Tour was informative and the guide and driver, Panchi and Pedro were entertaining. Tour could be a bit shorter if you didn't go all the way out into the hills but the food was good if a touch overpriced. If you like tequila then the last stop would be a highlight. Enjoyed the tour as it came free with purchasing two other tours.
A lot was offered. My daughter and I had a great time!! The history was interesting. We really liked Gustavo, our guide.
Pick up - great! It went downhill from there. We were dropped off on the Malecon, the church was pointed out as were washrooms in a shop just below the church and the meeting point (35 minutes allocated). In the bus the guide spoke in depth about tequilla. We then went to the tequilla tasting. This took up well more than 1 hour with the guide twice repeating what he had already told us in the bus (including the jokes) and a tequilla "professional" talking to us as well (similar info). Opportunity to taste different grades of tequilla and then a push for us to buy some. When we declined, the guide seemed aghast. Then on to a jewelry store - another sales pitch. My husband and I had had enough and we told a chap who worked in the store to please advise our guide that we were leaving the tour (he was busy speakingwithothers). The guide came running out after us and told us that we couldn't leave the tour (he was quite adamant). We simply said that indeed we could and we left - never to repeat the experience.
We booked the tour and confirmed with the day before, they just sent a message said the tour guide will be here at the lobby at 9:55 am, then the next day we wait at the lobby start from 9:45, nobody came! I sent messages to this company turns out the tour guide went to the wrong hotel! They should confirm with the tour guide the RIGHT LOCATION! They are supposed to be apologize!! This is our last day at here, and they just canceled our booking without trying to fix the problem!
I went on this tour in December of 2025 and had a lovely time. I loved that they picked me up and dropped me off at my hotel (Riu Palace Pacifico). I was with Jesus and Leo, and we traveled in a very comfortable Mercedes van. We toured and learned the history of the city, visited a jeweler, leather goods manufacturer and had a tequila tasting at a distillery (I didn't taste any, but it was very interesting). One word of caution: the streets of PV are not good - lots of cobblestone. As fabulous a driver as Leo is, the ride does get bumpy. Lunch in a mountain village was fabulous. This was a wonderful way to spend a day and Jesus answered all my questions. You will not be disappointed - very fun trip!
The experience was mostly about shopping at expensive tourist-oriented stores . There was time spent unwisely at a street looking at a mural of skeletons , and at the restaurant (the guide fell took a siesta) , when we could’ve had time to visit the cathedral , and explore the malecón
Excellent driver and guide. PA system sometimes made it difficult to understand the guide. Well worthwhile.
Not entirely just in the city of Puerto Vallarta, but was very well explained. Food was very good Dave our guide was good Eddie the driver was good. It was an ok experience all the way around. For me I would have liked to learn more about the city itself.
