We enjoyed a private tour that covered the heart of the city. It was extremely informative. The people were amazing, friendly, and welcoming. We had an exceptional time and our guide Carlos was excellent and extremely accommodating. Our ship was late arriving and he adjusted his schedule to facilitate the tour. He was a remarkable young man who was well versed in the history of this beautiful country. I would highly recommend the tour. The rum is quite strong at the tasting. The chocolate was very good, we bought some to bring back. The cigar shop demonstration was very engaging. My husband enjoyed the sample they gave. They allow you to pick the flavor and intensity.
Carlos was fantastic. He took us to interesting and fun sites we would have never seen on our own. He let us explore without us ever feeling rushed. I would highly recommend booking with him.

5 Star⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Carlos was an outstanding guide! He was punctual, friendly, and very knowledgeable about Puerto Plata. He made us feel welcome from the moment he picked us up and ensured we had a comfortable and enjoyable experience throughout the tour. We loved visiting the rum and chocolate factories, Umbrella Street, Pink Street, and the city's historic landmarks. Carlos was an amazing tour guide, very nice and knowledgeable. We got caught in an unexpectedly heavy rainstorm and he did his best to still keep the tour going and make it fun and interesting. Would absolutely recommend this tour and if I get back to Puerto Plata I will book with Carlos again to hopefully get a drier version.
