I quite literally never write reviews for anything, but this one deserves it. We just got back from our tour tonight. It was fantastic. The husband and wife that run this thing are amazing people. Their passion really pours out and their knowledge is incredible. The pictures you see in the reviews are real - we got pictures that look like they’re straight out of National Geographic. He kept grabbing my phone and saying “let me take a picture” and then did some precarious stuff to get close, which was awesome. it’s amazing what you can see, and without a guide I don’t think we would’ve seen anything, as spotting stuff is really hard without knowing what to look for. We saw a sloth, lots of different frogs, snakes, spiders, etc. but never felt unsafe. Just hire these people and stop looking. I’m just a guy from the US with no vested interest but again thought they deserved the praise. Even my teenage kids loved it, which is saying something.
Our tour was an awesome experience, our guide was very kind and knowledgeable, she went out of her way to focus more in depth on the animals and plants we were most interested in seeing. 10/10 would recommend.
This turned out to be an incredible experience! We got to see up close all kinds of wildlife! We even got to see a sloth up close and got to hold a snake. Our guide was also exceptional and made the experience even more memorable!
Excellent night walk. We saw a lot of animals, especially frogs and snakes. Our guides were fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. And very helpful with photography. Highly recommend this tour!
Wes and Robyn are a delight to follow through the rainforest at night, their enthusiasm for nature is contagious and their keen eyes gave us plenty to see and photograph. A close up with the spectacular and iconic red eyed tree frog was a highlight of my time in Costa Rica. Highly, highly recommend.
Johnny was an amazing guide! He was filling in for the regular guy, who, according the the reviews, is also excellent. Johnny located about a dozen frogs for us, and they were spectacular: blue, red, yellow, gold, green, with funky designs, and one was translucent. His knowleldge seemed professorial, he just knew so much and was eager to share. We saw some cool snakes and funky spiders as well. While we didn't see any mammals, the frogs more than made up for it, as did Johnny's enthusiasm. Also, he took outstanding pics of the frogs for us, which is tricky business in the dark, what with holding a light and camera at the same time, and with a nervous frog eager to hop away. Go on this tour!!!
I can't recommend this tour enough! My brother and I went in May and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We were very lucky to see a sloth at the beginning, and saw so many cool frogs, snakes, centipedes, basilisks, and more throughout the walk. Wes and Robyn are both so friendly and very knowledgeable about the wildlife. They brought a scope with them which enabled us to see everything up close and take great pictures and videos to remember far beyond the trip. 10/10
A very professional and fun tour, it was one of our highlights of our entire trip. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, fun to talk to, and eager to answer questions and provide the best service he could. It truly felt like you're part of the exploration of the forest instead of simply a bystander. Highly recommended to anyone interested in jungle night life, reptiles and amphibians, and looking for a relatively simple yet fascinating activity to get into.
If I could give this experience 1000 stars, I would. If I could rebook this tour for 6 hours, I would. This was such a fun, unique, entertaining, wild, and educational experience. Wes is the most impressive wildlife spotter and Robyn (a fantastic spotter herself) was extremely knowledgeable. Their love and respect for wildlife shined through and they did everything to make sure this was a pleasant experience for us. Everything start to finish was perfect. Tip: Go during the green season for best results but they'll make it worthwhile regardless of when you go. In a town full of tour options, this is one you dont want to miss.
A MUST! It is ran by a married couple and their passion for the wildlife is evident! They were so professional and personable. They asked permission and captured the most amazing photos of snakes and frogs imaginable. We also saw a sloth and a turkey! The rainy season is the best time to go because the animals are more active and mating. 10/10 would recommend and will be doing it again on my next trip to La Fortuna.
