Michael was thorough and made sure we had a fun time. Delicious food, great insight, and even the rain couldn't put a damper on the experience. Definitely would recommend.
Guests will get a glimpse of Shanghai old, new and very new. The food tour was curated to showcase Shanghai's diverse local cuisines. I enjoyed the food tour tremendously even though this wasn't my first visit to Shanghai. The river tour was an excellent way to get an overview of this part of the city. Lea, guide extraordinaire, sussed out very early what my interests were and took the opportunity during our walk, car rides and boat tour to point out to me other interesting food, drink, museum, etc options. Truly "value-add". Thank you, Lea
Lea was an excellent, informative guide for our group of three active adults. She deserves the four stars. However having done a separate food tour earlier that day this one did not meet our expectations. We felt the path the tour goes on was very mainstream and it (not the guide) did not allow for adventurous food people. The river Cruise was good.
Dear Guests, Thank you for your review. Sorry our tour is not adventure eating tour, we marketing ourselfs as authentical food expereince as discribled on the site with the information of the food choices. If you are opt to more " crazy food“ next time you shoud check out more carefully the options. Cheers! Best regards, Lily
This was an amazing tour and we highly recommend Annie as a tour guide! We wish we would have done this tour at the beginning of our trip because you learn the city and how to order food in addition to learning so many delicious foods that are available here. Annie spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable of food, its history and origin, and all areas of China. Her kind and friendly fly demeanor makes it comfortable asking questions… and again, the food we tried during this tour was the best food of our entire trip. We highly recommend!!!
Roy was amazing and so thankful he was our guide. He is very knowledgeable in culture, history, architecture and has a great personality. We enjoyed our time. Thank you!
This experience was excellent! The food was very good and ranged from more casual local vendors to nicer sit down places. I was very full by the third stop and the boat tour was a memorable way to end the experience. Our tour guide was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. She answered all of our questions and helped us navigate the city and the menus at each place.
The tour was amazing, we were meet by Sonny and Micheal who was training to do the tour. They were very welcoming and walked us around the streets of Shanghai trying different food that are traditional to Shanghai’s diverse cultures while sharing the history of the foods origins. We must say Micheal was outstanding and knowledgeable sharing the Chinese culture and history with us. The cruise was superb along with Micheal sharing the history of the building and the lights reflected the grandeur of the city. The food was great but the soup dumplings were next level. After the cruise we were so full we rolled to our hotel. This tour is a must and if your lucky enough to have Micheal for your guide you won‘t be disappointed.
As first time visitors to the city of Shanghai, we were very impressed with the food tour led by Lea. She was able to help us navigate the busy streets of Shanghai while exposing us to the unique cultures and foods of this beautiful country. We were traveling with a group of nine family members from Austin, Texas, and She insured that each and every one of us had a great experience. She lived a significant amount of time in the United States and understands the nuances of different cultures, we really appreciated her candor, her humor and her genuine hospitality. We highly recommend this food tour with Lea and would definitely do it all over again.
Our food tour was fantastic. We were a party of three couples. Annie took us to all the traditional and local specialties of Shanghai. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food and history she shared about the city. Annie is very knowledgeable and an excellent guide. We would highly recommend this food tour and loved Annie.
Very tasty walk through Shanghai with the excellent guide Lea. The highlight was the breathtaking night view from the river boat.
