The Heritage Walking Tour by Gurinder Singh Johal presents a fantastic opportunity towards gaining a more detailed understanding of the city of Amritsar than is possible by just visiting the principal attractions, wonderful as they are... Gurinder's courteous and highly professional manner complements his very extensive knowledge of Amritsar. The tour is a real 'eye opener', bringing vividly to life so much this remarkable city's past. My wife and I learned so much from this walking tour, providing as it does insights into parts of the old city one might hesitate to visit unaccompanied. Very highly recommended.
Ajay was a good guide, very professional and with a lot of knowledge on the old city. He took me to some interesting temples in the old city and had a lot of information on the history of Amristar.
We took a heritage walk with Gurinder singh Johal. Found him a pleasant person who shared small historical anecdotes that made the walk interesting. We were only two of us, my wife and me. Perhaps, if the walk had been conducted involving yet another couple/family, there could have been more interaction and sharing of experiences. Nevertheless, we were happy with what we experienced. I had contacted Gurinder Singh earlier and fixed an itinerary with him. Although he seemed too busy to speak on the phone, he answered my queries by mail and the entire tour went off without any hitch, s per schedule. Amritsar has a lot to offer apart from the Golden Temple (which is a pleasure to visit and pray in), though very few may be aware of it. The best way to explore a city, its history and culture is to walk around. Gurinder Singh fulfils this need very well.
Thank you very much sir
