Oliver, the best guide we could have. Very kind.
Best experience of my life! This is not just a trail ride, there was freedom to actually ride your horse and the guide was absolutely amazing! He made adjustments in the beginning to make sure we were riding correctly and once we were comfortable he let us ride! The break along the jungle stream with the volcano masks was once in a lifetime! ALL the fresh fruit of the area and the guide was so kind to us and gave us the best experience. Told us history and showed us nature along the way. I can’t say enough about this once in a lifetime experience. So happy, this made our whole trip :)
This is definitely the highlight of our trip! We found this trip at last minute, but since this tour is new, it offers a very pristine route under the volcano. The clay musk is also fun. Our guide Marco is very knowledgeable and spots Tucans, sloths, monkeys, Montezuma, the laughing falcon, turkeys and so on - even more than what we saw on the bird tour; we really love it and would like come back!
This was the best day of my life. I hope I don’t get his name wrong but I think our guides name was Carlos. These horses are SO healthy, SO well trained, Carlos made the tour incredibly informative and he was a pleasure to be with! My husband doesn’t enjoy fast riding and his horse was easy to maintain and took a slower leisurely ride through the rainforest and through the fields with clear views of the stunning volcano. Great for beginners and family’s. Now - I like to ride. Fast. And my horse knew this path, made me feel safe - her name was Pinta and she gave me the ride of my life! Perfect weather, amazing trails but really all the credit goes to the horse, I was just along for the magic. Bucket list worthy and I WILL be back! Also, the stop at the beautiful creek with fresh fruit & the FROM THE GROUND volcanic mud mask that you can use if you want or pass on (I personally covered myself with it) - very cool stop! Perfect time for a break and the scenery is breathtaking. Thanks again, Carlos, best day ever!!!
5 stars, A+, 10/10, two thumbs up. It was beautiful, relaxing, exciting, and educational. The staff was terrific. The horses are experienced, well taken care of, and safe. I took me and my wife on the tour after walking thru 1968 and had a great time, even as a novice on horseback. Highly suggest.
We did the Horseback riding with Marcos and it was more than we expected! Loved everything, the service from the security, restaurant and our wonderful guide Marcos! Thank you very much for the attention and give us the best experience in our horse race. I recommend it 100/100!! Thank you all for having me and my partner! 🥰🤩
We had such a great experience horseback riding with Arenal 1968! Definitely one of our favorite things we did on the trip. Our guide Marcos was amazing…so patient, kind, and especially great with our kids. He made everyone feel comfortable right away and kept it fun the whole time. The ride itself was beautiful, but the little extras made it even better. We stopped by a creek where he cut up fresh fruit and had cold waters for us (which was perfect), and he even let us try volcanic mud. You can tell he really cares and wants everyone to have a great time. We’re so glad we did this and would absolutely recommend!!
Guide was really nice. We weren’t experienced riders and Esteban was very helpful and patient with us. Horses were calm and knew where to go without much input. It is usually cloudy in La Fortuna but this day was sunny and beautiful. Would definitely recommend long sleeves and a sun hat that works with a helmet. Lots of open sky to get cooked if you’re not prepared. The late afternoon tour is probably better for seeing wildlife. They are hard to spot when it’s hot because they don’t move around much.
Just a fun experience with my 9 year old . Marcos was an amazing tour and so patient with us.
What a wonderful time we had on horseback through the fields and secondary forest . Marco our guide was fantastic , always took care of us and made sure we were safe at all times . He was also a great wildlife spotter , pointing out different birds on the way . He was very knowledgeable. We even saw Kinkajou ( which is unusual for the day , as they are nocturnal) . The horses were very wonderfully well behaved ! Thank you Marco . What I would say is that the Riding at Arenal 1968 , needs to be advertised on line , as we only found it by chance when going to do the hike at Arenal 1968 .
