Le Taj Mahal (« Couronne des Palais ») est le mausolée marbre blanc-ivoire sur la rive sud de la rivière Yamuna dans la ville indienne d'Agra. Il a été commandé en 1632 par l'empereur moghol Shah Jahan (qui a régné de 1628 à 1658), pour abriter le tombeau de son épouse favorite, Mumtaz Mahal. La construction du mausolée a été terminée pour l’essentiel en 1643 mais le travail a continué sur d'autres phases du projet pendant encore 10 ans. Le Taj Mahal a été classé comme un site classé au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO en 1983 pour être « le joyau de l'art musulman en Inde ».
Le fort d'Agra est un fort historique dans la ville d'Agra en Inde. C'était la résidence principale des empereurs de la dynastie moghole jusqu'en 1638, lorsque la capitale a été déplacée d'Agra à Delhi. En 1983, le fort d'Agra a été inscrit au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. Le fort peut être décrit plus comme une ville fortifiée. Le fort d'Agra est le seul fort en Inde où tous les premiers empereurs moghols ont vécu. Le fort se dresse sur un site ancien et il était traditionnellement connu sous le nom Badalgarh.

We had an amazing experience at both Taj Mahal and Agra Fort with our knowledgeable guide Vikram and driver Ajit. The 3.5 hour ride between Agra and New Delhi was smooth c/o our driver Ajit. Vikram speaks English excellently. His vivid and engaging storytelling made us highly appreciate the historical context and craftsmanship of these landmarks. Our memories are also beautifully encapsulated in the excellent pictures and videos he took.
This tour exceeded my expectations. The places we went to were amazing. The staff as well were so warm, welcoming and professional. The driver Ajit and guide Vikram made the trip all the better. Ajit made the ride super comfortable and safe. While Vikram is the best guide I’ve come across. Both of them are trustworthy, charismatic, kind and fun to talk to. Would definitely come back to India and book them from the same company again.
Our guide, Vikram, was 5-stars great. All the facts explained made us truly appreciate the Taj’s majesty and history. He also took us to other interesting places in Agra - embroidery, jewelry and marble-making. It was definitely a great first trip to India!
Great day in Agra. The communication was very helpful. It was no problem for the organisation that we requested to change the pick up time to 5 AM and add 2 more people to our group, with only one day notice. Shuba and the driver were very kind. The drive was a breeze. Shuba was very knowledgeable and managed to answer all our questions. The restaurant had good food as well. Would recommend! :)
Our tour guide Vikram is very good. He explained the history very well and engaging. We visited other good places like the Zardozi Embroidery Heritage Museum & Shop and the place for India Marble-making. We should have booked a longer tour! Very good first trip experience!!!

He has a Master’s degree in Tourism, and it absolutely shows in the depth of knowledge and passion he brings to his work. He could answer every single question I had with insight and detail, making the history and beauty of the Taj Mahal come alive in such a meaningful way. Beyond his expertise, what made the experience even more special was that he is from the city where the Taj Mahal is located, so he had authentic local connections everywhere we went. It felt like exploring the city with someone deeply respected and genuinely connected to the community. Together, Mahendra and Vikram went far above and beyond to make the day unforgettable. Their great energy, warmth, professionalism, and genuine care turned what could have been just a sightseeing trip into something deeply touching, memorable, informative, and special. I left not only with beautiful photos and memories, but with a real appreciation for the culture, history, and people behind the experience.
