La statue de l'émir Timour à Samarcande, en Ouzbékistan, est un grand monument dédié à l'émir Timour (Tamerlan), conquérant du et fondateur de l'Empire timouride. La statue symbolise la fierté nationale, la force et l’héritage historique de l’Ouzbékistan.
Le tombeau de Timur a été construit en 1404 et est célèbre pour son aspect impressionnant et orné, reflétant la grandeur de l'empire de Timur. La structure contient également les tombes d’autres membres de la famille de Timur, notamment ses fils et petits-fils. Le mausolée est un excellent exemple de l'architecture timuride et a joué un rôle déterminant dans le développement de l'architecture islamique dans la région.
Le Registan est une place historique de Samarkand, en Ouzbékistan, réputée pour sa superbe architecture islamique et son important patrimoine culturel. Le nom « Registan » signifie « endroit sablonneux » en persan, reflétant son origine en tant que marché. La place est entourée de trois magnifiques madrasas (écoles islamiques) construites sous l'empire timuride.
Médersa d'Ulugh Beg : construite par l'astronome et souverain Ulugh Beg au XVe siècle, elle est connue pour son impressionnant carrelage et sa grande cour.
Médersa Sher-Dor : construite au début du XVIIe siècle, cette médersa présente des décorations de carreaux uniques représentant des tigres et d'autres motifs.
Médersa Tilla-Kori : Ce fut la dernière des trois à être construite, achevée au milieu du XVIIe siècle, et se distingue par son intérieur somptueux recouvert d'or.
La mosquée Bibikhanum est une mosquée historique importante située à Samarkand, en Ouzbékistan. Construite sous l'empire timuride, elle a été commandée par Timur (Tamerlan) à la fin du 14ème siècle, plus précisément entre 1399 et 1404. La mosquée porte le nom de l'épouse de Timur, Bibikhanum.
Le bazar Siyab à Samarkand est un marché animé et dynamique qui offre un aperçu fascinant de la vie et de la culture locales. Situé au cœur de Samarkand, l'une des villes les plus historiques d'Ouzbékistan, Siyab Bazaar est connu pour sa large gamme de produits, allant des produits frais et épices aux textiles et artisanat traditionnel.
"Shakhi Zinda" est un site historique de Samarkand, en Ouzbékistan. Il s'agit d'une nécropole ou d'un complexe funéraire qui remonte au XIe siècle et est réputé pour ses mausolées et tombeaux joliment décorés. Le nom « Shakhi Zinda » se traduit par « Roi vivant » ou « Royal Alive », reflétant l'importance et le respect du site.
L'observatoire d'Ulugbek est l'un des sites archéologiques et scientifiques les plus importants de Samarcande. Construit entre 1424 et 1428 par l'astronome-roi Ulugh Beg (petit-fils de Tamerlan), il était autrefois le centre astronomique le plus avancé au monde.
Le monument commémoratif à Mirzo UlugbekCliquez pour ouvrir le panneau latéral pour plus d'informations est un hommage saisissant en bronze situé sur une place paysagée juste à l'extérieur des vestiges de l'observatoire d'Ulugbek. Il commémore la vie du "roi-astronome" qui a transformé Samarcande en un centre mondial d'investigation scientifique au cours du XVe siècle.

We had a fantastic private tour of Samarkand as a family. We had previously done walking tours in both Tashkent and Bukhara, and although the private tour in Samarkand was more expensive, it was definitely worth the extra cost. Our guide Amin was absolutely brilliant and really made the experience for us. He was knowledgeable, friendly and very engaging, but most importantly, he allowed us to explore at our own pace. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to ask questions, stop when we wanted to, and spend longer at the places that interested us most. He was also very accommodating to us travelling as a family. Having a private car as well as a guide made a huge difference. It made getting between the different sights much easier and more comfortable, particularly with children, and meant we could concentrate on enjoying and learning about Samarkand rather than worrying about logistics. Compared with the walking tours we did in Tashkent and Bukhara, this felt much more personal and engaging. Our guide really brought the history of Samarkand to life and made the day very memorable for the whole family. We would highly recommend the experience, particularly for families. A special thank you to our guide for making our time in Samarkand so enjoyable.

Fantastic full day tour in Samarkand! Our guide Usmon was waiting for us in the hotel lobby and immediately personalized the whole day to whatever we wanted. I assumed we would start at the nearest monument to us, but he had already scoped out that there were lots of tour buses there and decided to save that for later in the day, which was fantastic for us. Everything was at our own pace and focused on what we were interested in. He was candid and answered all of our questions about history, Uzbekistan today, and everything else. Even took us to a lunch place that felt more local - we were the only tourists there! It was a perfect trip to see all of Samarkand’s highlights in a single day and was a very reasonable price (make sure to bring some cash for entry fees tho!). Highly recommend this tour
