First of all the guide denied point blank on Budva which is mentioned in itinerary! He told it was a printing mistake from Viator! He said all negatives of Budva , it is a night city, it is windy , it is crowded blah blah blah and finally demanded 65 euro per head for Budva. His only aim was to bring us back to Dubrovnik by 5.30 and going to Budva will make it 8pm! He dropped us off at a very long distance in Kotor and we had to walk 1 km both ways , he cited some weird , unheard dropping off rules of Montenegro police! Well other cars were dropping passengers near the gate! In boating to Lady of rocks he denied citing wind and non availability of boat ! well it was windy but we had to find our own boat and ride, which was readily available for us. Matko lacked warmth of a guide! We would request Viator to refund us the Budva fair, which was incomplete! The trip left a bad taste ! I won’t blame Viator, as I have had numerous trips, got to blame the local tour operator!
We are a family of 4 and enjoyed a great trip with Tony. He was amazing very patient and knowledgeable took us through a alternative border crossing to Montenegro that was not busy. It's great to travel with a local. Saved us a lot of time. I recommend Tony he was flexible and patient at no time felt rushed.
We had a fantastic experience on our one-day tour of Montenegro. The country is charming, with stunning landscapes and a coast of stunning beauty. For us, Brazilians, it was a very special experience: although we also have a wonderful coastline, Montenegro has a beauty of its own, with mountains immersed in the sea, historic villages and an atmosphere completely different from ours. It was worth seeing. The highlight of the tour, however, was our driver. Extremely polite, kind, punctual and professional, he transformed the journey into a true class of history, culture and local curiosities. He shared rich information about the region, explained every place we passed and answered all our questions with a lot of knowledge and sympathy. Plus, his life experience and his welcoming way of talking made all the difference. We recommend this experience.
Spectacular drive around Lake Skador with mountains rising from the lake .Perast is first stop beautiful for swim but did not happen as driver did not follow the itinerary . Told had to go to church on island ( with respect not worth journey out there plus charged more . Kotor lovely walled city .The driver was not a guide and shared nothing about the country . Tried to change itinerary re Kotor lunch and Budva and was not happy when we asked to keep to it ..Have booked through Viator all over the world and never had this issue before . Have emailed separately and hope to get a reply .. This ruined what otherwise would have been a fabulous day .
Get Ivan!! He was from Dubrovnik and he was wonderful!! He knew the routes to get hey the heavy traffic the best places to eat!! Absolutely great!!
Montenegro was very beautiful. The towns are crowded depending on day of the week the cruise ships are in. Most importantly our trip was fantastic because of our driver, Zach. He was knowledgeable about everything, kind and you can see he had friends all up and down the coast( other drivers, at the boarder patrol, restaurants, police, etc). At the border going in and out of Montenegro. It is not well runned and super slow. At the end of the trip, I pointed out to Zach that the door was scratched and the scratch was not there before our last stop. He made phone calls to the company he was employed at and they did not help him out I even tried to talk to the company on the phone as well. . Zack also tried to get the parking attendant to look at the car and he refused to get out of his booth. I felt bad that no one was helping him and seemed to blame him for the scratch. Zack mentioned that it was his last drive which is sad because he was an incredible person and the company is loosing an amazing driver and person.
Although it’s a long day, it’s totally worth seeing these beautiful towns in Montenegro. The scenery is stunning. Our driver Milko was knowledgeable, prompt, friendly, and accommodating.
We had a wonderful and full day in Montenegro. Our guide/driver was Milko and he was fabulous. He got off the main road in Croatia and took a secondary, less traveled road to avoid the back up at the border crossing. He was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of both Croatia and Montenegro. He went above and beyond to personalize our trip based on our desires. We stopped at a wonderful restaurant on the way to Perast. We enjoyed walking around Kotor. Milko took us high above the Bay of Kotor for a panoramic view/photo op. Before heading back to Dubrovnik we stopped at Savina Winery for a wine tasting experience. We highly recommend this tour and our guide Milko.
Trying to get a day in Montenegro before heading home after a 7-day tour in Croatia, we booked this tour. Our only real complaint was that the advertisement for the tour placed on Trip Advisor stated that "local guides" (plural) would take us through the history. So we were expecting to meet up with local guides in the little towns to which we were taken. This was our enticement for the relatively high price of the tour. But there were no local guides and we were left on our own. Our driver, who was very skilled, had all the contacts to help us have a wine-tasting and get out to see the Lady of the Rocks. He definitely added to our tour by taking us to the Kotor Cable Car, also known as the Kotor–Lovćen Cable Car, which, according to the internet, is Montenegro’s premier gondola experience, connecting the lower Dub Station to the upper Kuk Station on Mount Lovćen at 1,348 meters above sea level. (And it was amazing!)
We did the Private Montenegro Day Trip from Dubrovnik and loved it. Our guide Matco was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Croatia and Montenegro, and we really enjoyed his perspectives — we learned so much more than we would have on our own. The scenery, especially the Bay of Kotor and Perast, was spectacular. One honest tip: the Croatia–Montenegro border crossing was very slow and time-consuming, so plan for delays. It’s no fault of the guide, just the reality in peak season. A memorable day with a fantastic guide — just go in prepared for the border wait. Highly recommended
