Miguel was very personable and extremely knowledgeable. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves very much and we learned a lot. Worth every penny.
Miguel was a wonderful tour guide. He tailored the tour to our liking. So likable and a wealth of information. Highly recommend. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
We wanted to learn about Jewish history & the Jews of Barcelona. Our guide Julia was knowledgeable & the displays & history laid out in the Jewish museum were excellent . However we really weren’t interested in Game of Throne sites & we could have done without the trip to Besalu ( the site of the mikve was interesting but otherwise it felt like a tourist trap) It’s 9 hours including the drive to & from Barcelona. I would have preferred a visit to the Jewish quarter in Barcelona but didn’t research enuf beforehand to book that instead. If you like medieval history, go to Girona & Besalu . But if the want to learn more about Jewish life in Barcelona ( past & present) , I suggest looking for alternative options.
Thanks Judy for your opinion. It's a shame you didn't realized before booking what is included on the tour. Our company only works in Girona area not in Barcelona. So the tour includes the most important spots about Jewish History in this area, Girona and Besalú. Although Barcelona had a Jewish community of about five thousand inhabitants in the Middle Ages, almost nothing has survived to the present day. it is known worldwide that the most important remains of the Jewish past in the history of Catalonia are located in Girona and Besalú. And that's we show to our customers. Also it's a shame that we could'n explain nothing about the present life of Jews here but It was very difficult as we don't have Jewish people in Girona area.
Without a doubt our experience with this tour company was incredible and our favorite day trip while visiting Barcelona! After months of planning a vacation for a family of 6 (including 3 little kids), we decided for this tour. The company texted me the day before to confirm the reservation and to provide contact details of our driver. The morning of, we were warmly welcomed by Alex who arrived early at our hotel for pickup. He was TRULY great! Van was spacious, clean and he made the drive from Barcelona to Girona extremely pleasant. We were off to a great start! Upon arriving at Gerona we were greeted by Ona, she is the best! Not only was she extremely knowledgeable of the city, Jewish history and Besalu but she was very sweet, flexible and patient with our kids. She deserves a special thanks for this! After the first half of our tour, we had time to stop for lunch at a delicious mediterranean restaurant (in the place de la independence). Ona made sure we knew how to get back to the van and provided contact information in the event we needed help. Once back in the van we headed to Besalu. We saw so much and truly felt we went back in time to the Middle Ages. AMAZING! I usually save my reviews for those who provide truly outstanding service, and this is certainly one I would recommend to friends and family. Alex and Ona represent a company that goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and special. As a tourist I am impressed and will book my future trips with them, THANK YOU AGAIN!
