Montez dans les rues de Funchal à flanc de colline lors d'une visite privée de 90 minutes en tuk-tuk, avec vue sur la ville, la baie et les collines au-delà, avant d'arriver à la célèbre zone de départ en luge à paniers à Monte. Je vais vous guider à travers l’histoire de cette tradition unique, vous montrer exactement où la balade commence, et partager quelques conseils avant de partir. Ensuite, nous continuerons à travers la vieille ville de Funchal, en passant devant des portes peintes, des coins historiques et des rues locales. La randonnée en luge à paniers elle-même est gérée par un service officiel distinct, et les billets ne sont pas inclus dans cette visite en tuk-tuk. La luge Monte suit son propre horaire, mais le reste du parcours, en particulier la vieille ville, peut être façonné autour de ce qui vous intéresse le plus. Le traîneau à panier est l’une de ces traditions de Madère qui sonne inhabituellement jusqu’à ce que vous l’ayez vu par vous-même, j’aime encore regarder les réactions des gens la première fois, avant que nous nous rendions dans la vieille ville pour changer de rythme.

Le Largo da Fonte à Monte est le point de départ de la célèbre promenade en luge à paniers de Madère, une tradition du XIXe siècle, lorsque ces traîneaux en osier servaient de transport quotidien jusqu’à Funchal. Ils sont guidés par deux « carreiros » en tenue blanche et chapeau de paille, qui utilisent leurs bottes à semelles en caoutchouc comme freins. Vous avez le temps de profiter de la région et de prendre des photos avant la randonnée facultative; les billets de luge à panier ne sont pas inclus et doivent être payés directement aux opérateurs officiels.
La vieille ville de Funchal est surtout connue pour ses rues comme la Rua de Santa Maria, avec sa collection de portes peintes de couleurs vives, ses ruelles pavées étroites et ses restaurants locaux traditionnels. Ces coins historiques sont l'un des côtés les plus caractériels et photogéniques de la ville.

Si votre logement se trouve dans une rue étroite ou à accès restreint, un point de ramassage à proximité peut être organisé. Virgilio is awesome! We had our tuk-tuk tour on the day we arrived and it was the perfect introduction to Funchal and Madeira as a whole. Virgilio is a wealth of local knowledge and history. He provided a PDF with recommendations for where to eat, drink, and visit and captured video of our toboggan ride. The souvenir was a really special touch. Communication was excellent - contacted me through whatsapp to give advice about the toboggans in Funchal. We started a little late due to the toboggan queue but this was communicated and agreed, plus we were collected from the exact point agreed. Informative and fun, the guides took photos of us and adjusted the itinerary due to a previous recent visit, and dropped us exactly where we asked. Would definitely recommend

We had a really great tour and can definitely recommend it. Our driver was very friendly, punctual, and gave us a lot of interesting information about Funchal and the surrounding area. The tuk-tuk ride was a lot of fun and the ride with the traditional wicker sled in Monte was a real highlight. We were able to see many beautiful places and had enough time to take photos.
