Tour guide La was very accommodating! As it was raining, we requested to avoid doing the 1hr walk to see the waterfall, and she accommodated to our simple requests (eg to stop by to buy fresh fruits, walk in rice fields etc). Very free and easy! Contacted the tour guide via the TripAdvisor Chat to confirm details. There’s also the WhatsApp number of the tour guide provided, so you can reach out too. As we didn’t stay overnight in Sapa, we did not have a hotel address. Hence, we put the pick up location at a place in Sapa, and the guide was early to meet up with us. :) Overall, if you’re looking to make the most out of your 1 day trip at Sapa, and looking for a chill experience (as the driver would drive to the places), would highly recommended this! Do take note that the entrance ticket to Glass Bridge is not included in the tour package (as stated in the listing). It cost 500,000 VND per person (~$25 SGD). If you’re not afraid of heights, this would be a worth a visit too.
I highly recommend this company. They do far more than simply provide a guide and a driver. When we asked whether we should take a Grab from the train station at 6 AM or if they could arrange a pickup, they sent a car at no extra charge. And if you’re a foodie, ask them to take you to the restaurant that serves sturgeon — it was grilled to perfection, and we also had a delicious sturgeon soup. At the restaurant, we wanted to try dishes that were above their usual budget and offered to pay, but they insisted on covering it — we only paid for the rice wine (definitely try the apple wine). Our guide, LA, was patient, kind, and very accommodating. We booked two tours and adjusted the itinerary to make the most of our limited time in Sapa, and we still managed to see all the main tourist spots.
I had a wonderful tour with Linh, who was super knowledgeable and friendly. I thought the tour was a little expensive (I paid $NZ265) but I didn't realize when I booked that I was paying for a driver and a tour guide. This probably therefore isn't the best option for a solo traveler. Having said that, the day was very enjoyable.
The tour was very good. Our guide Lah, was also absolutely amazing. He local knowledge was second to none. Check fitness for this tour, although a lot is in the vehicle, there are many steps, but well worth the trek. Sorry Lah for having to help my partner for most of the steps.
We did eight hours with La, our Hmong tour guide. She was absolutely fantastic. We saw waterfalls, magnificent mountain scenery, terraced hills and visited two villages - one an authentic local village in the Lao Chai Valley and the other was a 'tourist' village called Cat Cat Village. We ate delicious food, learnt about the culture and had an amazing day with beautiful La. Our driver was very safe and the car was clean.
Last week we had a wonderful time with our guide Linh; she was amazing and a kind guide who introduced us to so many interesting things. We will definitely return to SaPa.
This was a wonderful experience. The tour was amazing and my tour guide, SiSi, was awesome. The beauty of the Vietnam culture is just breathtaking, and local food was out-of-this-world delicious. I highly recommend this tour.
We had a wonderful one-day car tour with La, and it was truly a memorable experience from start to finish. La was always smiling, approachable, and incredibly attentive throughout the entire journey. She patiently answered all of our questions with clear and helpful explanations, which made us feel very comfortable and well taken care of. What really stood out was her enthusiasm and positive energy. La was not only professional but also genuinely passionate about what she does, and it showed in the way she interacted with us and presented each destination. She shared interesting insights along the way, helped us understand more about the local culture, and made sure everyone in the group was engaged and enjoying themselves. The trip was smooth, well-organized, and stress-free thanks to her thoughtful planning and coordination. Even small details were taken care of, which made a big difference in the overall experience. Her friendly attitude and dedication turned what could have been just a normal tour into something much more enjoyable and special. We truly appreciated having La as our guide and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a professional, knowledgeable, and warm-hearted guide. She played a big part in making our trip so enjoyable, and we would gladly travel with her again in the future
I wish that the tour did a better job to explain the physical requirements for this tour. Given it was a driving tour, we were surprised that certain sites on the tour (the waterfalls, Cat Cat Villiage) required hours if walking over significant elevation change. If we knew about this we would have most likely booked a different tour. The tour itself was good and also pretty extensive. I wish that the guide showed more initiative to actually explain what we were looking at. Outside of one section of one of the villages, she mainly just showed us where to walk and answered any questions we had ourselves about Hmong life. She was very nice and we enjoyed our experience, but the best guides give historical and cultural context to the places we visit.
Hi Sam Walczak, Thank you for your detailed feedback — we truly appreciate you sharing your experience with us. We’re sorry for any confusion regarding the physical requirements of the tour. Although this is a driving tour, both Love Waterfall and Cat Cat Village require walking inside, and unfortunately there are no alternative options for accessing these sites. We do mention this in our tour information and also reconfirm details such as pick-up time and meeting point in advance, but we understand this may not have been clear enough, and we will work on improving how we communicate this to future guests. We’re glad to hear you found the tour enjoyable overall and appreciated the kindness of our guide. At the same time, we take your comments about the level of explanation seriously. We will continue training our guides to be more proactive in sharing cultural and historical insights, not only when asked. Regarding your request for an earlier pick-up, we did our best to accommodate it even on short notice, and we truly appreciate your understanding. Thank you again for your valuable feedback — it helps us improve and provide a better experience for all travelers.
Our tour was amazing and exceeded our expectations! Our guide Li was wonderful and we really enjoyed learning about her life in Sapa, the traditions and history of the area and getting to see some truly beautiful places. She was also brilliant at taking photos for us, something I almost always forget to do. I had asked the day before if it was possible to swim at the waterfall, and that’s exactly what I did at Love Waterfall - it was definitely one of the highlights for me! The only thing we didn’t love was the visit to Cat Cat, only because it is so commercialised and not representative of a local village at all. However it was great to find out about the history of the village and how it has become more of a theme park, it was also very busy which I find quite overwhelming. I would highly recommend this tour if it is your first visit to Sapa and you want to have the comfort of a private car and driver and tour guide and if I could give Li 10 stars I would!
