Le temple de la grotte de Dambulla, également connu sous le nom de temple d'or de Dambulla, est un site du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO situé au centre du Sri Lanka. Situé à 148 kilomètres à l'est de Colombo et 72 kilomètres au nord de Kandy, c'est le plus grand complexe de temples rupestres et le mieux préservé du pays. Contrairement à Sigiriya, il est plus calme, plus abordable et a une importance culturelle en tant que site d'un ancien monastère bouddhiste avec des grottes utilisées par les moines il y a des siècles. Idéal pour les amateurs d'aventure, les photographes et ceux qui recherchent la tranquillité, Pidurangala offre une expérience unique. Veuillez noter que les visites à Sigiriya Lion Rock et Pidurangala ne sont généralement pas prévues le même jour. Si vous souhaitez voir les deux, veuillez en faire la demande à l'avance, car l'itinéraire peut nécessiter des ajustements.

The tour was very cool and the driver has been our guide on the way also! We have seen a lot of beautiful places and also a magnificent elephant crossing the street !! Don’t miss this opportunity!
We are lucky today to have Mr Irfan to be our guide to Sigiriya. He was right on time to pick us up in the morning and patiently waited for us since we were a bit late. During the whole journey on the road, he clearly explained where we were and provided a lot of information about things we saw on the way. He also shared many interesting facts about the cultures and religions in Sri Lanka. For lunch, Mr Irfan brought us to a local restaurant, which provided nice local food with reasonable price. At different attractions including Dambulla Cave Temple and Sigiriya, Mr Irfan guided us and helped us to take a lot of nice pictures to record our journey. Overall, the tour to Sigiriya and Dambulla was so much fun and so fruitful with his company. The day trip was definitely worth it!
We had a wonderful day with Irfan. He picked us up on time at our accommodation and waited patiently because we were running a bit late. After that, we had a super pleasant drive toward Dambulla and Sigiriya. Irfan explained a lot to us about the country and the people and at the same time also introduced us a bit to the language. On the way, we also stopped at a Spice & Herbal Garden and had a local guide there who taught us everything about the local spices and plants. We also learned how to make curry powder. Afterward, we then drove on toward Dambulla. The temple complexes were breathtaking, and Irfan was able to tell us a lot about the history there as well. In Sigiriya, we had a very delicious Rice & Curry meal at a local restaurant and then climbed up Pidurangala Rock. There, we had a breathtaking view of Lions Rock. That was truly a highlight. On the drive back, Irfan bought us various local fruits for refreshment. All in all, it was a really great and interesting day. We learned and saw a lot. Thanks again especially to Irfan, who made the day perfect for us.

We booked the tour spontaneously one day in advance, and everything went smoothly from start to finish! We received information via WhatsApp in advance about what we should bring and what kind of clothes are appropriate. The pickup at our hotel in Kandy also went smoothly and on time. Our guide Irfan was excellent. He told and explained an incredible amount to us on the way to Sigiriya, and even bought us a small snack and water for the journey! For lunch, he showed us a small local restaurant just before Sigiriya, where we had lunch. The food was a 10/10! The Rangiri Dambulla Cave Temple was also a very interesting and cultural experience. Here too, Irfan explained a lot about the individual caves to us. Furthermore, we could understand Irfan well at all times because his English is really good. We also felt safe at all times in his car, even when the road was bumpy; he is a very safe driver! All in all, Irfan gave us an unforgettable day that we will not forget anytime soon. We booked the tour spontaneously one day in advance. Our driver Mr. Irfan picked us up punctually at the desired location. During the drive, he was able to tell us a lot about the places and landscapes we passed by. The Dambulla Caves were our first stop. We spent about 1 hour here and visited a total of 5 caves with statues of Buddha and others. Mr. Irfan was also able to share quite a bit of information here. Afterward, we had lunch in Sigiriya. The restaurant was extremely delicious and authentic. Without a guide, we probably would not have found it. After that, we continued to the hike. We decided to climb the smaller mountain to have a good view of Lions Rock. After about 20 minutes, we were already at the top. Towards the end, you have to do some climbing, as the steps stop. The view of the rock and the surroundings was phenomenal. All in all, we had a great trip and can only recommend it.

We had a wonderful experience with our guide Adhil during our visit to Sigiriya and Dambulla. He is a very safe and careful driver, which made us feel comfortable throughout the entire trip. Adhil provided great information about all the places we visited and explained everything clearly, making the tour both interesting and educational. He was extremely polite, friendly, and always ready to help us with anything we needed. After the tour, he also drove us to our next hotel at a very good price, which was a big help and very convenient for us. Overall, Adhil was professional, kind, and reliable. We truly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend him to anyone visiting Sigiriya and Dambulla.
Fazeel took me out to Dambulla on what turned out to be the wrong day to take a tuk tuk. It was rainy the whole way out and most of the day, and he had the best humour about getting the brunt of that rain. He was flexible about the order of things and gave good advice about climbing Sigiriya when it was such a cloudy and rainy day. Dambulla was worth the ride out though, absolutely amazing. I'll just have to save Sigiriya for another time!
