The cruise, the crew, the appetizers and meals were all excellent. We had 15 people on the Casco Bay Custom Charter for a private Sunset Cruise on Marie L and it was perfect. They crew customize the experience exactly as you would like it and it's fun time. They were wonderful and the celebration of my son and his bride was loved by all. Book a cruise with Casco Bay Custom Charters you'll be happy you did.
Best tour of our trip!!! Nick and Myles were absolutely incredible hosts, answered all of our crazy historical questions, accommodated all of our needs, and were so great with the grandkids! They were informative and fun, and the tour left us in awe. Thanks for a fantastic evening!!! We highly recommend this trip!!!
It was an outstanding tour! First mate and Captain were the best. Very scenic tour and relaxing. Highly recommend it. Score big points with your date.
Thanks so much, Michael! We’re thrilled to hear the cruise was a hit — and love that it earned you some extra points with your date! Scenic, relaxing evenings on Casco Bay are hard to beat, and our crew will be glad to know they helped make it memorable. We appreciate the recommendation and hope to see you back aboard soon!
The private sunset cruise was a great experience for 3 couples. Although our weather didn’t cooperate, and we didn’t see the sunset, we still enjoyed the ride around Casco Bay. The boat was equipped with a covering to keep us dry on a rainy evening. Jack, our host, really made the experience a positive one. He was great to talk with and answer all of our questions about the area. Thanks to Jack for your knowledge and humor with our group! Fun time!
Thank you, Becky! We’re so glad to hear that even without the sunset, your group had a great time cruising the bay. Jack will be thrilled to know his local knowledge (and sense of humor!) helped brighten a rainy evening. Our boat’s canopy comes in handy on days like that — and we always say, Casco Bay is beautiful in any weather. We’d love to welcome you all back for round two — hopefully with clear skies next time!
Chef David O'Brien made one of the best six-course meals my husband and I have had in years while accommodating my seafood allergy. Maria was the perfect Deck Hand, checking on us often enough but not too much, provided great knowledge of Portland with a ton of history on each island we passed. Captain Nick gave us a smooth ride for the full three hours on a clean, wood boat setup for a romantic dinner for two. The whole evening was executed flawlessly, with Dylan and Kim remaining in touch leading up to the experience and after to ensure we had everything we needed. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this generous and detailed review — we’re honored to have been part of such a memorable evening. Chef David will be thrilled to hear your kind words (especially regarding the allergy accommodation), and we’re so glad Maria and Captain Nick helped create the perfect atmosphere on board. It means a lot that you felt cared for from start to finish — Kim and I truly appreciate you noticing the behind-the-scenes support as well. Wishing you both many more special dinners ahead, and we’d love to welcome you back aboard anytime!
Best way to see the coastline and lighthouses in Portland! It was nice having the tour all to ourselves. Our guide was very informative and knowledgeable. The boat was nice and clean, and they provided a speaker for us to play our music and blankets. A great experience, definitely recommend!
Thank you, Mercedes! We’re so glad you enjoyed the sunset cruise and had the boat all to yourselves — it’s one of the best ways to take in Portland’s coastline and lighthouses. We love adding those thoughtful touches like music and blankets to make it extra comfortable. Thanks for the recommendation — we’d love to welcome you back aboard!
Our favorite part of the honeymoon! You must take this tour! Captain Nick and Tristen were the best! Super comfortable tour with drinks and plenty of Portland history! I cannot recommend this tour enough! So worth it! We would like to come back and take it again!
Jason, we’re honored to have been a highlight of your honeymoon — that means the world to us! Captain Nick and Tristan had a great time with you both, and it’s wonderful to hear the tour struck the right balance of comfort, local flavor, and Portland history. Thanks for the glowing recommendation — we’d love to have you back aboard anytime!
This experience was amazing! We just got married and this was the first time where we just got to sit back and relax since the wedding. Captain Zach and Deckhand Lauren were incredible! They showed us all the lighthouses and were knowledgeable! They answered all our questions. We really enjoyed our time with each other and the crew on the boat!
Congratulations, James — and thank you for spending such a special post-wedding moment with us! We’re so glad you and your partner could kick back, relax, and take in the beauty of Casco Bay with Capt. Zack and Lauren. They’ll be so happy to hear your kind words. Wishing you both all the best in your new chapter — we’d love to welcome you back for an anniversary cruise someday!
For some reason, I do not see my old review. Our boat trip was amazing. Our food was locally sourced and delicious. The day was perfect providing my husband and myself alone time. We enjoyed every minute cruising right by local shorelines. We were educated in some of the local landmarks, as well. Great thing to experience and get a real feel for local fisheries and fishing industry in the area. I highly recommend this excursion!
Thank you for sharing such kind words — we’re honored you chose to spend a special evening with us on Casco Bay. From the peaceful shoreline views to the locally sourced food and insights into Maine’s working waterfront, it sounds like your sunset cruise captured the spirit of the coast just as we hope it will. We’re so glad you and your husband enjoyed your time aboard, and we truly appreciate the recommendation!
This was our 2nd trip aboard this boat, and we loved it just as much as the previous time. A comfortable, relaxing, and informative trip around Casco Bay, with wine and a beautiful charcuterie plate. The captain and first mate were excellent - was a highlight of our weekend trip.
