This a great guided audio tour. You can do it all pretty quickly or stop along the way and make a day of it. My wife and I did this to get our morning walk in. The audio was very good at pointing out sights and history you would otherwise miss. It’s great to be able to do it self paced.
A very nice way to explore the Cork city on my own. The app is easy to use and it is very informative.
Great little tour. Easy to follow directions once you got to the starting point and it connects to Google Maps to get you there initially. Easy to start and stop if you wanted to explore a side street or have a pint. Also enough tidbits of information that you could google and learn more. I was by myself and it was a nice way to spend a lazy afternoon wandering around a lovely city. Definitely worth $6!
It was a good highlight tour but doesn't let you actually visit any churches or any of the sites in depth.
I chose this self guided tour as I had limited time in Cork before a longer harbour tour. Very impressed with the quality and clarity of the commentary and the ease of use of the app. Guides you around all the important sights in the central city area. Also adjusts to your own pace and allows for stopping along the way. Budget friendly option too!
I only had an afternoon in cork so I really enjoyed the opportunity to explore on my own and managed to see all the highlights with a brief history. Great idea for when you don’t have long in a city or for an initial explore to decide where you want to visit in more detail
This was the first time that we had done a self guided walk as opposed to a walk with a physical guide. I had low expectations as I thought that probably the technology wouldn’t work properly etc. But we were really pleasantly surprised. Everything worked and if by chance you wandered off the scheduled route you got a prompt that put you back on course. I would definitely recommend this tour and would look out for another in different locations.
It is pretty good, only two small points which could be improved from our point of view. Giving directions/ navigation could be better. Got off the route. We can understand that she wants to show the different eras by showing the architecture coming out of it, but maybe it could be more some people connected to the history of the city.
My 1st time using VoiceMap and I was extremely pleased. You can do a tour at your own pace or in partial segments and on your schedule. Did the Cork Ireland tour in separate sections and even did one part in reverse.
The tour was well done and easy to follow. We enjoyed it very much, however, there was construction, so we were not able to follow the route and missed highlights.
Hi there, Thank you for your feedback on our Cork walking tour! I'm delighted to hear you found it well-designed and easy to follow. Construction in historic city centers is unfortunately a common challenge for walking tours - these temporary disruptions can block access to certain highlights, which is frustrating. For future reference, if you encounter construction barriers during any VoiceMap tour, you can use the map view in the app to skip ahead to the next accessible location and continue from there. Thanks for flagging this, can you please send us some more details at support@voicemap.me, so that we can see if this will cause long-term delays on the route. Thanks, Helene
