Beautiful park, but skip the organized tour and drive yourself. Plitvice Lakes National Park is absolutely stunning and undeniably a beautiful place to visit. However, booking it as a day trip left us feeling incredibly rushed. Because of the tight itinerary, we completely missed out on walking around the lower lakes. If we visit Croatia again, we will definitely hire a car and drive there ourselves. Having your own transport is the only way to truly set your own pace and properly enjoy everything this magical park has to offer.
The views were amazingly beautiful. Walks and facilities were well organized. Guide had excellent knowledge of history area, and his English was very good.
Incredible national park! Beautiful and well preserved, at least to my non-expert eyes. Guide was knowledgeable and helped us take a route that helped avoid larger crowds. Took photos for us, and also let us walk ahead/on our own most of the walk and that was nice just to be more part of the nature there. There were definitely some crowds in the park in areas, so a few traffic jams but nothing terrible. Still got beautiful photos and memories. I love to learn about new things so could have enjoyed even more facts and science and history from the guide, what they shared was interesting, just want more of it! Driver was safe and prompt. Would recommend!
The trip up and back in the bus was very comfortable once we got started. We were late leaving because of late passengers arrivals. The scenery at the National Park were wonderful. Our guide walked us by many beautiful water falls. They were spectacular because of the recent rainfalls. Alaina was our guide and she was very h knowledgeable, funny and efficient. On the was home we stopped at a great restaurant. The food was amazing and the service efficient. A bit rushed but understandable since it is a stop on route to our final destination. Would highly recommend this tour.
The waterfalls are spectacular- I have never seen such clear waters with fish swimming in it. So clear you can see the floor. Cool waters in slightly lower temperatures. Only downside is long queues for loos and hundreds of people doing the same trip. Our tour guide was brilliant!!
Fabulous tour - absolutely stunning venue. Great tour guide Petra steered us around the crowds and was very knowledgeable about the park - would highly recommend
Great place to visit, beautiful waterfalls. Although its a 3hour ride by bus from split its worth it! The bus ride is confortable and Mario, our guide, did a great job and took care of us walking with the group to the best sights of the park and made sure we didnt get lost in the crowded areas. Would have appreciated longer breaks, to chill out next to the lakes, 20 mins long is not enought if you need to eat or wait the queus of toilet in high season like August. Wouldnt have mind a longer excursion.
Great guide full of knowledge and personality . Thank you Mario for giving us a great day out at the lakes
Well worth the long coach ride from Split to see the amazing waterfalls and lakes. The water was crystal clear and beautiful shades of turquoise. Our guide was great, good sense of humour and kept us moving without feeling hurried.
Fantastic day out! Hotel transfer picked me up just as scheduled and coach journey from Split was seamless with a stop half way for a comfort break and a chance to grab some breakfast. Upon arrival, tickets were distributed and the tour started right away. Our Tour Guide Barri was fantastic, allowing us to walk at our own pace and just asking that we stopped at each fork in the road to regroup. The waterfalls were astonishing - unlike anything I've ever seen. The ability to walk so close was brilliant, and our group had to do many hop, skips and jumps over puddles! Overall, we walked about doc miles - but it wasn't tiring (even the uphill parts) and we were able to keep a steady pace and there were no significant inclines. We left at 3:30 and stopped at a nearby Bistro for a late lunch which had a fantastically varied menu catering for everyone. The meal was not too expensive, and we were back on the coach for 4:45pm and set off back to split. Overall, I would definitely recommend. The entire experience was wonderful. Some great memories made.
