Excursion sur la côte de Pise et Florence au départ de La Spezia

Booked this excursion with Princess cruises while on the Sun Princess. Took an hour to get to Pisa then the coach drops you off then a 15 minute walk to the leaning tower in 33 degree heat were you get 15/20 mins to see everything and everything is an extra charge including the toilet ( €1 and they only take card ) then 15 mins back to the coach and onto a cameo making factory were you send longer then you do at Pisa then 1 hour back to the ship. A better option would be a half day trip to Pisa 2 hours to and from and 2 hours in Pisa to see everything and go into all the buildings and skip the factory visit.

We booked this private excursion during one of our cruise stops in La Spezia. It is easily customizable in a way that gives you time to explore, include a lunch and enjoy the famous spots of Pisa and Florence. Our guide, Marta, was our friend by the end of the trip. Informative along the way, gave great suggestions and tips to avoid “tourist traps”, as she called them. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and made it back to the ship with plenty time.

Francesco was incredible! He had bottled waters available for our rides to Florence and Pisa. He also accommodated our wish list to make sure everything was checked off! He took us to a legit leather factory (Michelangelo) where the staff was amazing, accommodating, and not pushy at all. He worked with our schedule, gave us historical information about Florence, and made sure we were comfortable at all times. He nailed the estimated times we would want to spend at each location and said if we wanted to spend longer, just let him know! He made sure we were back at our ship in time and was so professional! Wish we had booked him for the second day in Florence! I can’t say enough incredible things about this trip.

Had a fantastic tour with Marta. She picked us up promptly from the cruise terminal and had waters waiting for us in a comfortable van. She gave the perfect amount of context while we were driving and gave us enough time to explore on our own, a great mix of letting us choose where we would like to go and suggestions of places to see. All around a great tour!

We had a great tour with Marta. She was on time and ready with umbrellas for our rainy arrival. She was very thorough in her explanation of the sights we were seeing during our drives to both Florence and Pisa. She even took us on a more scenic drive through the Tuscan countryside to get us into Florence. She gave us a great blend of free time to explore with a list of places to see, recommended a great restaurant for lunch and even stopped for gelato on our way back, all while getting us back to our ship in plenty of time. We appreciated Marta’s kindness and professionalism throughout our tour.

Since we were coming from a cruise, she was mindful of our schedule and ensured we returned in time for the ship. We booked a private van excursion from the port of La Spezia during our mediterranean cruise in July 2025, and it was one of the best days of the trip. Our driver (Marta) met us right on time at the port, holding a sign with our name, and we were in a clean, air-conditioned van within minutes. Our first stop was Pisa, where we had enough time to visit the Piazza deli Miracoli and take classic photos with the Leaning Tower.The timing was perfect - just enough to see the highlights without feeling rushed. We then drove through the beautiful Tuscan countryside on our way to Florence. Marta gave us interesting commentary and even stopped at a scenic viewpoint for pictures. Once in Florence, we had a couple of hours to explore on our own. We visited the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and enjoyed a delicious lunch near Piazza della Signoria. The van was comfortable, and Marta was friendly and very professional. She gave us helpful tips on where to go and made sure we got back to the ship in time. Highlights: Wine Windows in Florence.

My husband, 5 kids and I chose this tour as a more efficient way to see Pisa and Florence in the one day our ship was in port. Marta was so friendly and personable on top of being an amazing guide who expertly handled the heavy seasonal traffic, shared with us about the culture and area while we drove, and gave great suggestions for spending our time. The vehicle was comfortable and Marta made the experience enjoyable for all of us.

Having the ability to customize our trip was so helpful and amazing. We have one member of our family who is elderly and another with mobility challenges, but Maurizio expertly guided us and helped us do as much as we possibly could together. The van was very comfortable and he even had cold bottled water and Wi-Fi for us.
