This tour was a really enjoyable and well-organized experience. The small group made it feel relaxed and personal, and our guide was friendly and full of great insights. Each stop was unique and beautiful, with a nice mix of guided visits and free time. Everything ran smoothly, from travel between countries to accommodations. A great choice if you want to explore the Balkans in an easy, comfortable, and memorable way!
Interesting trip, but hotels, except for a few exceptions, bad.breakfasts and small rooms
Shop, this tour in Viator, from the point of view of the places to know is adequate, the great lack is at the level of Hoteleria, not only because of the low quality of the hotels, with some exceptions, but because of the lack of Service with the aggravation that not all are hotels but apartments without any type of service. Considering that you travel long distances, the minimum you want is a good room and hotel services. We were 2 passengers alone and the only rescueable thing is the Ana guide that touched us. There are many details to adjust.
My husband and I completed the 8-day tour of the Balkans with our knowledgeable guide Migen A. He was flexible with the schedule and accomodations for us and provided us with great information on the countries we visited and the region. We would highly recommend him! The difficulty we had was the e-car we were given for the tour. Finding available charging stations and the locations of the charging stations frequently interfered with our itinerary and required long walks by our guide.
Lovely introduction to the Balkans. Left us wanting more and a strong desire to come back. We were 2 female travellers and felt very well taken care of the entire trip. It was well coordinated and thought out. Gesi was a phenomenal host with great food recommendations in all of the locations we visited. He was flexible and knowledgeable. Gesi made sure we had a one of a kind experience, we are very grateful for this! There was also some car trouble on the first day of the trip but Choose Balkans handled it very well. The issue was not in anyone's control but they still dealt with it very well. They got us a different car and guide for 1 day so we would not miss out on Mostar, Bosnia while they resolved the car issues. Even the guide we had for one day was excellent and provided a tailored experience as a local. Choose Balkans dealt with such an unexpected situation so well including a lot of kindness and apologies from the staff and guide. We were super impressed with the company and the Balkans!

My friend and I (2 American women) planned this tour to celebrate our New Year’s Holiday and had an amazing time! We booked the small group option, but since no one else booked for our dates, we had a private tour experience for the entire trip. Our guide Almir was the sweetest and taught us so much about the food and culture of the region. He also made sure all border crossings went smoothly. We were driven in a 2023 luxury electric vehicle and stayed in very nice hotels or apartments, which included breakfast. The days consisted of driving to various historical sites around the region and enjoying delicious restaurants. My highlights were learning traditional Albanian dances on a beach, riding the ferry across Kotor Bay in Montenegro (gorgeous), eating baklava, and checking out the secret military bunker museum (only made public in 2016). This was not a physically taxing tour, and would be great for participants of any age. Be prepared, though, for lengthy car rides between cities. It was good rest time for us, however; and we passed the time jamming to our favorite music. Also, if you travel in December / January, plan for mild weather 50-60* Fahrenheit, occasional drizzles, and short lines given you’ll be traveling off season. Thank you so much Choose Balkans and Almir for taking me and my friend on such a fantastic adventure!
Thank you very much for your detailed review. We hope you will join us again for another amazing experience!
We did this 8-day, 5 country tour between October 31 and November 7, 2023. Had a fabulous experience, visiting places that not many Americans witness. Our guide Toni was both our driver and history teacher, letting us know about the religion, culture, and economics of the Balkans. He was a good driver and flexible in his itinerary allowing us to change places and times along the route. Finally, Sirma at Choose Balkans in the Tirana office was great in handling all of our logistics and payments. Kudos to all and highly recommended Choose Balkans!
We were asked and cared for by our guide Gerion and followed up by the company, Choose Balkans, making sure all went the way we wanted.
Tour explored old world charm with new freedom flavors, to amazing tunnels & roadways, building their future. Sirma at Choose Balkans (Tour Operator) very accommodating. Watching World Cup matches in Tirana, Albania's FanFest memorable, along with Xmas lights, beers & bratwursts.
