We liked our day, but a little too fast, the road is long from Dubrovnik, there is little time left for the visit of the previous city. We booked a tour in French, but unfortunately we were told too late that it would not be possible. The English-speaking guide made a little effort to speak to us in French during the visit.
Thanks Curiosity546377 for your review I inform you that we do tours in English and Spanish not in French I ask you do you want that I hire local guide who speak French and you told me that he charge to much so I do best from my side. Sorry but I don't speak French
Tour was canceled due to rough seas but nobody ever notified us, We waited over an hour before we left our meeting point. We tried to the local provider 3 or 4 times but nobody ever answered the phone. I would avoid Smiley tours at all costs.
Thanks Richard_C for you review please tell me how you can organise boat tour if sea is rough if you fall from boat it would be my mistake not yours that is why we cancel tour for your safety and now you complain next time I will do tour and you will be all wet and scared and that you will write us review they endangered our lives by sending us on board when there were big waves
Ivo , our Tour Guide did an excellent job of informing, explaining and even showing us maps, books and written materials about the places we visited. He was very professional, courteous and very kind with his ways of getting us to see beautiful spots in Montenegro . We had so much fun . We highly recommend Ivo !!!
Ivo was a wonderful tour guide for our small group trip to Monte Negro. He was very friendly and during the van ride to Perest, Kotor and Budva he gave us an extensive amount of information and passed around maps and books on the history on each place before we arrived. There was sufficient amount of time at each place to wander on your own. The black mountains make a beautiful backdrop scenery. We had a lovely breakfast of fresh oysters, coffee, and burrata salad in Perest (our first stop) From there we went to Kotor where we hiked the 1000+ steps to reach the top of St. John ruins. A must do if you want to see some beautiful views of the city and surrounding area. Afterwards, we went to Budva and explored the old town before having lunch consisting of oysters and salads with a bottle of local white wine. I would definitely recommend this trip and hopefully you will be lucky enough to have Ivo as your tour guide because he does an outstanding job!
I went to Kotor, Montenegro in late October this year. The weather was not good, but I was still impressed by the wonderful scenery. Located in the deepest part of the Adriatic Sea, Kotor is a fortified city surrounded by fjord-topped mountains, with its ancient cityscape preserved within its walls, making you feel like you’ve been transported back to the Middle Ages.
Kotor Bay is stunning no matter where you look. Very nice on the road tour to reach the city of Kotor. Also recommended to take a tour on the ferries that offer trips around the bay. And of course it is also worth the climb to the fortress of San Juan. It is true that it is a climbing time and therefore if it is very hot it is advisable to do it first thing in the morning. We did it in July but started the ascent before 8:00 in the morning to avoid the high temperatures. The view from above is amazing.
I took this tour with the company owner, Ivo. He is very knowledgeable about the area and the tour is fun and informative. I had free time in each location we stopped at to be able to take pictures, sample local food, or shop. The area around the Bay of Kotor is beautiful and well worth seeing. Smiley tours was a great choice for this day trip.
We took this trip over the Christmas holidays and found the trip to be relaxing, informative, and fun. Our guide was easy to work with and was very accommodating. We learned a lot about Montenegro and would love to spend more time there. We would definitely use this tour group again!
Thank you colebaughse for your review I am so happy that I had a chance to met you and to show you Montenegro that you never seen before. I wish all best to you and your familly.
We were on this tour, all right. He was carrying a chair for our baby, we understood him a lot in Spanish and he explained everything perfectly. Thank you.
Gracias, Scenic48060634109 por tu opinión. Estoy tan feliz de que te haya gustado mi recorrido y de haber tenido la oportunidad de conocerte. Te deseo lo mejor a ti y a tu familia.
Kotor was magnificent. The Bay of Kotor was spectacular. Budva was a bit of a dud ... kind of a Russian flea market. But everything was overshadowed by the sense of impending catastrophic death thanks to the daredevil coach driver. He passed every vehicle he encountered, often in very dangerous blind curves, played cat and mouse with the other tour buses and generally had fun terrorizing us. (We were in the front seats and watched in horror as he scrolled through his Facebook account while careening along the highway -- some of the people in the back told us they had no idea how close they had come to catastrophe.) So Montenegro was nice, but hardly worth risking your life and making it the last trip of a lifetime. (This was on 30.9.2017 and we were picked up at 7:25 at Hotel Bellevue. Wish we could remember the name of the driver who almost killed us.)
Hello PDBJ I am so sorry about that what happend to you when you were here in Dubrovnik in Croatia. I sow in my papers and I didn't find your names so you haven't been with Smiley Tours on that tour. I can give you one advice allways check who is driveing you and ask allways driver that he show you his business license and after tour ask him for bill and then you will know who was your driver and witch company provide you that tour.
