Le quartier juif abrite des sites classés au patrimoine mondial, tels que la synagogue de la rue Dohány, la deuxième plus grande synagogue du monde. La visite comprend le bâtiment de la synagogue, le jardin commémoratif Raoul Wallenberg et le cimetière juif. Le monument émouvant de l'Emmanuel Tree, créé par Tony Curtis. Rues historiques et communautés d'autrefois. Et pourtant : c’est un lieu où il y a bien plus que le passé. Nous couvrirons une deuxième synagogue fonctionnelle (visite extérieure), des monuments historiques et aurons également un avant-goût des événements actuels de la région. Croyez-le ou non, ce quartier abrite également la majeure partie du street art et de la vie nocturne de Budapest.

Aux victimes.. Qui étaient pour la plupart des Juifs… L'un des mémoriaux les plus controversés de la ville. Érigé dans l'obscurité de la nuit, gardé par des policiers. Les gens protestent tous les jours depuis sa création il y a 10 ans.

Our tour guide, Edith, gave us a wonderful Jewish Heritage tour. She was so very friendly and knowledgeable and helped us really understand the plight of the Jewish people during the reign of Hitler. The tour is 3 hours and you should be ready to walk. I highly recommend Edith for any tour of the Jewish area of Budapest.

We had a great time on this tour. Edith was an excellent guide, after we met, we got tickets for the subway to the shoes on the Danube memorial. She showed us how our transit ticket could be used for bus and tram also which we used later in the day on our own. We also went to several other memorials and finally to the Dohány street synagogue where she gave a great explanation of everything. Highly recommend this tour.
Edith was a remarkable guide of the Jewish Quarter and Synagogue during my visit to Budapest. Her English was excellent and she was very knowledgeable about all the historical facts. This Jewish Heritage tour in Budapest was outstanding in every way. We were seven people and Edith structured the tour around our interests. It was exceptionally well organized, deeply educational, and presented with great sensitivity and respect for Jewish history and memory. Edith combined historical knowledge with personal stories, making the experience not only informative but truly moving. Great tour with Edith. Saw the Jewish quarter and various memorials as well as two synagogues. Went into Doheny synagogue and the garden area.Well worth the time and walking.
