Le projet Morrinho, exposé en permanence au Rio Art Museum (MAR), est une installation fascinante qui remet en question la vision stéréotypée des favelas brésiliennes. La maquette exposée en permanence au MAR reproduit en détail les rues, les habitants et la vie quotidienne de la favela Pereira da Silva, montrant la richesse culturelle et sociale de cet espace. Visiter le Projeto Morrinho no MAR est une occasion unique de voir la favela sous un nouvel angle, mettant en valeur la créativité, la communauté et la résilience qui définissent ces espaces. C'est une expérience qui révèle la complexité et la beauté de la vie dans les favelas, bien au-delà des stéréotypes de la violence. Pour ceux qui cherchent à comprendre plus profondément la réalité et la culture de Rio de Janeiro, Morrinho est une étape incontournable.
Nous allons contempler l'art d'Eduardo Kobra, la plus grande peinture murale de graffiti au monde, admirant les aspects d'ethnies ancestrales, de très vieilles cultures qui font directement et indirectement partie de l'histoire du Brésil.
Nous visiterons le site archéologique, l'exposition permanente sur les ossements des Africains découverts sur place et nous serons surpris de l'impact de ceux-ci sur la compréhension de la période des esclaves au Brésil.
Nous visiterons le site historique de la jetée de Valongo et la région connue sous le nom de Petite Afrique. Nous découvrirons son histoire, ses traditions et son importance pour l’histoire de l’humanité.
Nous rencontrerons la communauté restante de Quilombo Pedra do Sal, un lieu de résistance culturelle, fondamental pour la survie des Afro-descendants et la préservation de leur patrimoine, où les Cariocas célèbrent fièrement leur riche héritage afro-brésilien avec des séances hebdomadaires de samba en plein air.
Immersion dans le riche patrimoine culturel africain à Rio - Mise en valeur de la gastronomie, avec dégustation de plats typiques de la cuisine afro-brésilienne et yoruba, très fréquents dans la pratique quotidienne des religions d'origine africaine. Musicalité - un atelier de percussion, avec un instructeur et un batteur du continent africain, concentrons-nous sur cette culture qui influence les gens à ce jour.
Largo de São Francisco da Prainha est un endroit dynamique et culturellement riche à Rio de Janeiro, où l'histoire, la musique et la vie urbaine se conjuguent en parfaite harmonie. Lorsque le soleil se couche derrière Morro da Conceição, Largo prend vie au son de la samba, du funk, du jazz et du chorinho, créant une atmosphère détendue et accueillante. What a wonderful tour for us Australians to learn more about the African history of Brazil. Isabel tailored tour to suit us walking thru various neighbourhoods explaining their relevance. Lunch was lovely highly recommend!
This was a great tour for folks who want to know what it’s like to be Black in Brazil and to get a diasporic perspective. Jaíse is clearly very passionate about all of the above and this tour is a great testament to this. I believe she’s gonna be putting together a local R&B tour soon and i can’t wait to come back and check that out someday! So many landmarks and historical events are covered here - phenomenal!

The whole tour was very enlightening and packed with REAL historical facts about Brazil and the first enslaved people who were brought here to work under harsh conditions but became the heart beat of Afro Brazilian culture that permeates throughout this country and a true reflection of Brazil’s backbone. As a black man it was great to see the struggles our ancestors suffered but through resilience and strength along with love grew a Culture unmatched in this region. A must do for all African(Hebrew) descendants.
I had an amazing experience on this tour. Our guide, Isabella, was very knowledgeable and passionate. I learned so much about the deep African roots in Brazilian culture. From the music and dance to the food and history, every part of the tour was vibrant and unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a rich, cultural experience!

We experienced alot on our trip to Brazil. We spent some time in Rio then traveled to Paraty. This was by far one of our most memorable experiences! This was a very good tour! Isabella does an outstanding job and really knows her history of the Afro-Brazilians. Unfortunately the museums were closed the day we did the tour since it was Christmas Eve. Be mindful of that of visiting on holidays or guests should be given a heads up so they have a chance to change the dates if possible. With that said, I would still highly recommend this tour in Little Africa. It’s a must do especially for Black Americans visiting Rio!
