Le parc national de Sanjay Gandhi est une zone protégée de 87 km2 (34 miles carrés) à Mumbai, dans l'État du Maharashtra en Inde. Il a été créé en 1996 avec son siège à Borivali. Il est remarquable comme l'un des principaux parcs nationaux existant dans les limites d'une métropole et l'un des parcs les plus visités au monde.
Les grottes de Kanheri au centre du parc étaient un important centre d'apprentissage bouddhiste et un lieu de pèlerinage sculpté par des moines bouddhistes entre le 9ème et le 1er siècle avant notre ère. Ils ont été ciselés dans un affleurement massif de roches basaltiques.
Temple Trimurti Dans la forêt, il y a un célèbre temple jaïn appelé Trimurti (signifiant «trois idoles») ou Trimurti Digambar Jain Mandir. Ce temple est largement visité par la secte Digambar de la communauté Jain. Il a trois énormes idoles de Lord Adinath et de ses deux fils, Lord Bahubali et Lord Bharata.

Very pricey for what the tour offers. Caves were nice to see and get history behind them however paying 258 USD was not worth the experience. Your guides were nice though

We had a layover in Mumbai so booked this tour for the afternoon and we were not disappointed. Good communication from the tour operator and Hardik who picked us up with a driver from the airport and took us to the park. On arrival we met with Kishor who was our guide for the park. Kishor was very passionate and knowledgeable about the park and the caves - he bought the whole history to life and we had Buddhist meditation in the caves, as we had them to ourselves. We've booked the tour to the SGNP, including the caves, lions area and Vipassana pagoda. Everything was tailored to our needs and we had a great time!
